Just say NO. Because most Filipinos don't pay back. I've experienced this 🤔🤨

Finding a partner and the correct one ☝️..should be one on your top priorities. This will make your life so much easier if your in the Philippines, stick to basic rules. Mixing with poorer Filipino with most likely get you drawn into a mindset that inherently has begging associated with that lifestyle. So you get what you wish for …modern Filipino, don’t generally ask for money as it’s embarrassing and throws a bad light on them. These modern Filipino, will work and are independent.

Very good conversation ladies it helps to understand the culture of lending and borrowing in the Philippines. From person to person it’s best to give them money. Without the expectation of receiving the money in return. This greatly ruins relationships.
@carltonedwards87754 күн бұрын
America and the Philippines have some things in common. My mother use to always say never borrow money from the people you work for. Now in America it is extremely difficult to get a cash advance from your employer. Americans would have to go to a PayDay Loan type business to get cash before they receive their paycheck. There are a large number of Americans who don't have a clue about money. Some Americans can't meet a $500 emergency, no matter the amount of money they are making. Friendship and money, family and money are like oil and water, they just don't mix. Lending money is like going to the casino, you only play with money that you can afford to lose.

I used to hang out with this "First Nations" family here in Canada, that's when I first started to loan money. I lent money to 10 people and only 4 paid me back. When I would ask them for my money back, they would either ignore me or lie, and that's why I stopped lending money. When I went to the Philippines and met my wife there, not a single person asked to borrow money from me. My wife had a decent job there and her cousins would always ask her for money. She would lend to them, but she would never get that money back.
@IanCrouse5 күн бұрын
First, those four drinks scared me. Now, I had a bad habit of loaning money to employees. Not that I got burned, but I had them come in when I didn't really need them. Two could have handled the dinner service, but I would always pull someone who had hours to burn. There is just one who I loaned to because she always pays me back. She's a single mom working two jobs and was one of my better employees.

For me, it is something I like to avoid, especially with family members. Doesn't matter which side of the family it is. It can become a problem. Obviously, when there are serious emergencies, what can you do? The only time I loaned money was when my sister-in-law's roof blew off. It was 40k pesos at the time and she paid it back within three months.
@DeanPearson-uz2ek5 күн бұрын
Ideally spoken...no to loans, unless I have legal recourse for repayment. Gifting is different, as it's an act of kindness, without repayment. Whoa...Leah, you have now become a magician. My Dad's loan policy to anyone throughout his life was .... ok , I'll loan you this X amount and you will never get another penny out of me until you pay that loan back entirely .... I can still hear him arguing over the phone with someone who was trying to get a 2nd loan and I was laughing because I knew he wouldn't budge until the 1st loan was paid off .

If married to a Filipina, would create a fixed amount family emergency fund. Also, would make a whole family issue to approve borrowing from fund. That way the family and not me is involved in getting borrower to refill the fund so others can use it. If someone doesn’t pay back, sorry but no more money.

What I hate about the Philippines the most is that I cannot own property. If a Filipino comes to the U.S., they can buy land and property. Philippine government thinks always like the beggars that you must always just give money e.g. even though I pay for the land, I have to give it to a Filipina or if I want a business, I have to give 60% to a Filipino. FT the world is a big place. I am thinking now about Ghana or Vietnam.

There are loans and there are Filipino loans. When you borrow money in America you expect to get it back in an agree amount of time sometime with a bit of interest and other times just the loan amount. When it comes to Filipinos, whether in America or the Philippines the word LOAN doesnt have the same meaning The word LOAN actually means gift. They have no intention of paying back anything AND you should not expect to see your money ever again.
