min 1:51 stats is what makes this dude the GOAT. With the level of difficulty of shots he took, with end-of-shot clock shots he had to take, with the double and triple teams, the dude shot 51%. I mean... damn. And 89% at the line. Damn.

Man, Jordan's jumper was so silky smooth.....the 15 footer was money all day! BTW, look at Phil as he heads off the floor letting the ref hear it,lol. Getting a jump on the refs before the next game, gotta love it.
@sbeallvln4 жыл бұрын
You can imagine some people thinking, “OK, Philly just won one game and now Jordan is hobbling, and the next game is at home-plus the Sixers beat the Bulls despite 46 points from Jordan. Chicago’s in trouble now! Nope-swept the last two games, swept Detroit, beat Magic’s Lakers in 5. No problem. That’s the greatness of both Jordan and this Bulls dynasty.
@michaelmcmillan14252 жыл бұрын
Not really. Jordan had Pippen, and Horace Grant. Barkley NEVER had the "HORSES" to compete with them. Not to mention Bill Cartwright was a BEAST with the Knicks as a scorer. Before he got traded to the Bulls. He became more of a defensive player once he got to Chicago. This wasn't a Shock at all!

@@michaelmcmillan1425 basketball is a team game , the fact Jordan had pippen and horace grant doesnt mean they Are Super Team. MJ teach SP to be this level and also leading his teamate .

this game and the 1st game of the finals vs LA were the only two losses in their championship run of '91. And both losses were by 2 points or less, and were determined by game winning three pointers... If those plays went the other way...Chicago would have gone undefeated in their '91 championship....this is a very underrated team when it comes to the best NBA teams of all time (the Bulls of '91).

Lack of competition. I think the 80s-90s had the best competition. Rosters were deeper with NBA-ready talent. Didn't have to worry about drafting guys and waiting to see them develop. Also, look at the physicality of the game then. Handchecking was legal. You could pretty much ride someone the entire way. There was no such thing as flagrant 1s and flagrant 2s. If MJ played today, you would never be able to keep him from scoring less that 50 a night!

Everybody plays by the rule in the league. The 3 decades that MJ played, he'd never went around with it. He always plays by the rule. When there's a change in the rule, he follows it and he still beats the odds and the challenges in the court. He once said, "only intelligence and teamwork win a championship". He proved it. He won 6. He went short with the one in '95, but it was nearly close to taken.
@LB147453 жыл бұрын
Accessory transition time during this series. MJ moving his red band from the forearm to the elbow. Then it would change to black and remain like that for a long time. Except for moving it back to the forearm for a short period when he came back, and changing it back to red once in a while in 1996, and for some time in 1997 and 1998.

EveryDayIsAGoodDay - you're dreaming. LBJ has more assists and rebounds because of the position he plays. MJ was a shooting guard, a backcourt player, who played in a system that moved the ball around - not on player was supposed to rack up all the assists but as a team, they almost always led the league in assists. Assists and rebounds are position dependent stats and are not used in a cross position comparison for that very reason. And LBJ may be stronger but MJ dwarfs him in every other category in terms of athleticism and certainly in terms of skills. MJ jumped higher, he was faster and quicker, he had much better manual dexterity and was fully ambidextrous - plus he had those huge hands that allowed him to do so much more at the basket and all across the court - he dunked with his left from all angles easily and had ridiculous left hand layups. He was more agile and created in mid air in ways LBJ can't dream of doing. MJ took way more contact then LBJ since the rules allowed for so much more contact and there were big men in the paint back then. He finished at the basket much better than LBJ does - but LBJ plays in era where the number of free throws dwarfs the number shot in MJ's era. Everything qualifies as a contact foul today in comparison to MJ's era.

Perhaps. However, Jordan (in his prime) did the same thing to the athletic players he faced. Phil Jackson considers dennis Rodman to be the greatest athlete he ever coached, and jordan did the same jordan things against him. Richmond, drexler, and starks were very tough defenders as well.
