That's called "ethical certainty." The let-he-who-has-no-sin-cast-the-first-stone, in many cases, is only an indication of moral cowardice in people with guilty consciences. Moreover, it is quite possible that the story told in the Gospel of John ch. 4 is even more spurious than the rest. No serious moral reasoning should be based on it.

He still doesn't take any accountability for his own actions. Yes, make good choices when it comes to picking friends. But that has nothing to do with HIS own personal choice to sit there and do nothing while an innocent woman was begging for her life. He was all alone with her, away from his vicious "friends". He easily could have chosen to save her life and let her escape. He chose not to. Why? Out of some weird misplaced sense of loyalty to his friends? He would have been doing them a solid by letting her escape, since the charge for kidnapping and assault is less than the charges for all of the above plus murder.

I hope he got his just rewards.
