Thank you for explaining clearly and providing a demonstration. I brought this last week and opened it yesterday. When I realized it needed a app I groaned and boxed it back up. I’m almost 60 and frankly didn’t want to deal with it. I thought I checked a few reviews before taking it back to the store today and after a few videos that babbled on ( sometimes I want reviews to get to the point or I move on😳) I found yours. Whew! I have not tried luna 2, but 10 days ago I bought luna 3 brush at the recommendation of a friend and I am very delight with it. It si very soft, it does not irritate the face in any way and it cleans the face perfectly!!!

The phone is needed to initially activate and register the phone. There are a multitude of setting and features that would be inconvenient to control from the Luna 3. But once you have it set up the way you want it, you don't need your phone.

Hello 💕 unfortunately, you cannot adjust the intensity without the app, so if that’s something you really like to play with then the Luna 3 probably isn’t the one you want. If you don’t mind and don’t change it too often then the 3 is perfection!

I really was going to get this device to upgrade from my Lina 2 but it just bothers me so much that using my phone is not just an option like if I want to go wash my face and it’s too intense I have to and get my phone open the app just to lower the intensity? Hello Holly! So basically you can use it in the shower but you would have to choose the intensity before entering. I’m not someone who plays with the intensity often (if at all) so it doesn’t bother me. However, if you know you like to play with the intensity than the Luna 2 is a better option cause the buttons are built into the device vs on the app! Hope that helps ✨😚

Yes the whole device vibrates so when you turn it on. So it’s your choice which side you want to use. One side being the cleanse and the other being massage pulsations :)

There are three versions of the Luna 3. I would be nice if you had mentioned the version you chose and why. It appears to be the "Combination skin" model. I'm debating between that one and the "Sensitive skin" since I do have somewhat sensitive skin + rosacea. But I don't know if that would be too gentle. Any suggestions?

Yes the colours are different for all the models. Their both combination skin. Does your skin get noticeable oily at all? Because if it doesn’t and you feel like you’re sensitive, I would opt for the normal skin model or the sensitive one and not the combination version ☺️

I bought this device at duty free. I get that it’s much nicer than Luna 2 as I also have one too. It’s nicer massage, a lot nicer bristles and much nicer setting. But I really think it was ridiculous that unless the connection to the phone is turned off, it can be turned on or off as no one wants to take the phone to shower or bathroom and touch the phone with soapy hands, absolutely ridiculous. I first thought to complain to the company as I also thought I can’t turn it on or off without the app. Their warranty claim is faulty. After September 15 purchase date the company charges 25% fee to their faulty device that came out of the factory even when it was not your fault. They’re never available on chat even though they sell them internationally. I bought this in Hong Kong Duty free on my way to Melbourne and back to Tokyo. The company is not the most responsible in terms of customer service. Who charges 25% of the cost of the product when they’re the one who was at fault?! Absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible company and its warranty scheme.

So when I called Foreo customer service they told me that when you download the app and sync it that is the product verification process. The Foreo 3 doesn’t actually have its serial number on the device or in the box. So synching it to the app is authenticating it and you will be able to see the serial number there. 😊 hope that helps!

HaHhaha oh boy do I ever feel this 😂 if you’re stuck on the colour I suggest opting for the Luna mini 3 and grabbing the pink one ahha but otherwise yeah the skin specific Luna 3 is really great when you get the right one. The bristle are different textures that help balance the skin when cleansing ☺️😚

Hello! If you have any oily zone I feel like the combination skin one has really helped me even the oiliness out. I don’t think when you use it you can actually distinguish between the different bristles but if will make a difference for your skin. 😊

Hello 🥰 glad you enjoyed them! As for the anti aging side, if you’re motivated to learn the patterns or if you are familiar with massage techniques, then the anti aging side is worth it. However, if you don’t see yourself committing to the routine, then I would suggest the mini. Personally I never used the side on the Luna 2, but when it became pre set massage features on the 3, I enjoyed it much better. Hope that helps 💋

Yay! I believe you only have to turn it off by holding it for 5 seconds if you haven’t completed the routine and you’re not using the app. Otherwise you should be able to control everything else in the app. Massages are strictly an in app feature, so pressing the button for 5 seconds only works to turn it off after you’re done the cleansing mode. At least that’s what I’ve understood from the manual and testing it out. If I’ve confused you at all feel free to ask me more questions 😂 I hope it did help a little though 💕

Yes I do have combination skin that can be sensitive. I am really in love with the new Foreo Luna 3. It really is noticeably softer than the 2. I feel the different when I cleanse with it vs. without it. My skin feels so much cleaner and well exfoliated.

To be honest I never switched the level settings too often on my Luna 2. 😂 but yes it is more difficult to push. Probably because it’s deep under the silicone so it’s guaranteed to be waterproof.

Hello Khy! Hmmm if you’re going for the Luna 2, I would suggest the one dedicated for oily skin. However, if you want to try the softer one, get the blue one for combination skin in the Luna 3.

After 400 uses you have to plug it in to charge it (for these specific models Luna 2 and Luna 3), I've had my first device for years and it still works. I know the Luna Play model is non rechargeable and has limited uses and the Luna Play Plus model uses AAA batteries that you can change yourself after 400 uses. Hope that helps clear things up 😘

Hello Kira 👋🏻 you absolutely don’t need your phone. You can set the level in the app and then use it indefinitely at that same level. You only need the app if you want to lower or intensify the pulsations. ✨☺️ hope that helps clarify your question.

The Luna 3 has longer and more soft touch points. Also, it can be used with an app that has great massage routines. That made me choose the Luna 3 when I was asking myself the same question.

I have to say that the Luna 3 is the softest Foreo cleansing device by far. It also leaves my skin the softest between the mini and the luna 2. The 3 also offers the guided massage. If your mini is leaving your skin nice feeling and overall cleansed, I don’t think upgrading is necessary. However, if you’re looking for more, you are definitely getting a good value for what you’re paying for and I would recommend going straight for the 3 if it’s in your price range.

Hmm I’d say combination if you’re set on the 3! But if you want a device that was specialized for oily skin in mind then the Luna 2 is also a great one! I’m pretty sure the Luna 3 combination one will cover oily skin though, because it cleanses my oilier areas very nicely and the cleansing area is honestly so soft that it’s very gentle but effective! 😊

What are you looking for in your device? The Luna 3 has noticeably softer and longer touch points. It also has an app controlled massage features. So if you’re looking for guided massage features, I’d say the Luna 3 is worth it. But if you enjoy cleansing with the Luna 2 and you feel like you’re getting a good cleanse then you’re just fine with your Luna 2.
