Pinehurst No. 3 is my "not No. 2 or No. 4" recommendation. When you're heading to Pinehurst and looking for which other course you should play, or if you're looking for something more affordable than the big ticket tracks but still get the authentic Pinehurst experience, this is my answer. Pinehurst No. 3. At less than 5,200 yards from the tips you may scoff at the scorecard, but don't be fooled. This is a 1910 Donald Ross original that will embarrass you around the greens. Very, very fun golf course.

Donald Ross courses are my favorite courses. I have 2 of them in my city and grew up playing them. Whenever I am on vacation I always look for a Donald Ross in the area to play. He was a master!!!

Grew up playing Washington Golf In Arlington Va, originally a Ross design but it was updated in the 50s. They just went back and restored it to try and get it back closer to his style/ design
