FORERUNNER Breakdown [Destiny 2] Flying Under The Radar?

In this video we'll be taking a look at the exotic sidearm, Forerunner, here in Destiny 2's Season of the Wish. Can this weapon compete on the PvE side of the game, and is it still a solid pick for PvP in light of the recent sandbox changes? I'll do my best to break the weapon down and provide the information so you can make that decision for yourself. Enjoy! 🍻

Forerunner is absolutely goated for Solo Flawless Prophecy. The massive ammo reserves help with the sheer amount of snipers and long-range engagements you'll be dealing with in every encounter after Phalanx Echo

It really does put in a ton of work in mid-tier level content! Having that much ammo on a weapon that can deal solid damage from range can be very handy! 👍👍

​@@rasenshuriken7771Use a sword and swing right when he pushes you to negate the effect, and if you want to be REALLY safe, use Lion Ramparts with Catapult Lift (It's the best jump in the entire game as far as staying alive goes) If you don't wanna be that safe then you can use the Gauntlets that boost Burning Maul's damage or Synthos I've accidentally solo flawless'd this dungeon multiple times on Titan, so if you need any more tips for other encounters lemme know

​@@rasenshuriken7771Bruh I'm so upset, I just typed a whole guide on how to easily beat that boss as a Titan and KZbin deleted it Anyways use a sword (swing after getting hit to negate the effect) and for extra safety, use Lion Ramparts with Catapult Lift (Optional)

One of my favorite things to do in PvE is run forerunner with Verity's brow. The grenade does indeed power up with Verity's perk, throwing two angry, chunky grenades and nuking anything that isn't a boss will never get old to me. Another great review~

I personally love Forerunner. It's pretty much my go-to exotic in my kinetic slot if I'm using an energy primary cause I just love the look, feel, and performance of the gun! As always, I love the content, my man! Amazing work as always!!!

I find that Forerunner shines pretty well against Tormentors, since they're never shielded and you're relying heavily on Crit damage.

I’ve been using this gun since it came out, in low end, and mid tier content the gun shines, in high end content the catalyst shines the most, for easy ad clear potential, what I think would make this gun better, is very simply more reserves and slightly higher damage against shields, with all the exotics we have that use special, even though they may have less they do more in forms of champions, utility and swap, I would love to see a little buff because this gun needs it and it deserves some love.

its super super fun in PVP imo to pair with the bxr battler, speaking of halo. heck you can put on the halo sword as heavy if youre that into it lol. The thing I like about BXR/Forerunner over other pairings with forerunner like a sidearm, is when I run out of forerunner ammo I still have long range capability, while the BXR also can perform in short range due to the hip fire. In other words forerunner is good at long range while you have ammo, while bxr can play at all ranges when you dont. of course it's not perfect and bxr isnt as good at short as other options, but at least you retain some capability at all ranges when out of special. i havent used forerunner since the special changes though, and being old i typically run double primary. so i'm not familiar with the new special economy, but it seems if anything it would definitely hurt forerunner.

I mainly use Scout Rifles most of the time in PVP but since I don't have DMT, whenever I don't feel like constantly ADSing, my loadout becomes Forerunner and BXR. Cliche but they feel so good and I grew up on Halo. Allows me to be solid at mid ranges while still being mobile.

Running the good 'ole Halo Loadout is a lot of fun, and still quite effective! Pairing those guns together really reconjures the feelings from the glory days of Halo! 😁🍻

Im not sure that the catalyst is free but the weapon is free to earn for all players, I might be wrong about that but even without the catalyst, this gun is the GOAT! Great video as always!

Its more like a full auto sniper rifle. It shows in the video here but the trick here is to forget the Pace yourself perk. Its recoil is manageable enough to control on full auto. Its almost a psuedo lucky pants vs no shield majors.

I use it in Master Lost Sectors. Handles Barrier and seems like it randomly/briefly stuns other champions on crits.

Forerunner and dmt are my old reliables. I love them both greatly. That or I'm just so in tune with my halo side so when I see the dmt ornament it looks like a dmr lol

The new PVP sandbox killed the weapon for me. And my Halo Loadout as a whole. But I'm still going to use it. I love all the exotic sidearms we got save for Final Warning.

Ive solo flawless some GMs with forerunner. And I can say that if you know what are you doing plus using special finisher you can easily use it as an primary and even with double special

Great review, and great weapon XD. But I'm investigating something: sometimes "The Rock" grenade disappears when casting your super. And sometimes not. Do you know why?

Forerunner is awesome but ammo is frustrating. Hard to decide what to run with it in PvP. I settled on Shayura’s or Helio but you really have to push push push to get that ammo back. Pro tip, don’t use full auto

I like the gun but I wish the grenade cost less ammo. It's fun as hell to use but it feels like I never have the ammo. Maybe they could make it into a free grenade based on precision hits or something?

Absolutely. With how efficiently the gun itself can put players down, spending limited reserves on a grenade that might help secure a kill just doesn't feel worth it. 👍👍

Forerunner is an excellent sidearm. It commands a steady flow and in the right hands is hard to Stop. This is Bungie giving us a history lesson. I'm begging Bungie: pull out the win! You need it and we as the guardians, need it to. You did good with Indebted Kindness, the Prophet, and this past weekend with The Summoner Trials. Now go do us proud.
