Forest Day Camp: An Old Church Visit: With Bacon Sarnies & A Brew

I've been quite busy lately which has not afforded me the time to get out for an overnighter. So when a small window opened up to get out for the day, I seized upon it & headed down to Thetford Forest to scout out a suitable spot for a day camp.
There's a rather lovely & quaint little church at Santon which is well worth popping in to check out. I don't think All Saints (as it is known) is this old, but there is a list of parish Rectors on the wall inside that goes back to 1311. I may be wrong but I believe that the church was built upon the original site of an old medieval church. There is a mound nearby that is the last remnants of an old medieval villiage.
But back to the camp...
I had a lovely afternoon just chilling in the forest. Once the initial attack of mozzies & horseflies subsided due to a profuse amount of sweating, I got settled and had a cook up & brew.

@@Dug_Out aye all good here thanks Dug, the weather has been so unbelievably awful here the past 5 weeks that all plans of camping have been put on hold.. it's been so frustrating! Lol.. looks like a change in the weather soon though so I'm itching to get out there. Your videos have been inspiring me . Brilliant little day-camp that Dug, nice area that, but it does get busy up there in the summer months with hikers, dog walkers, loonies on mountain bikes (I count myself among them) etc. Looks super chilled and proves you don’t necessarily need to go far or for too long, to just unwind.
