Forest Dharma - Thai Buddhist Documentary

One of the best aspects of Thai Buddhism has been the long-standing tradition of coupling the teaching and practice of the Dhamma with environmental protection and concern for the uplift of the poor, especially in remote villages.
Phra Pongsak Techadhammo (Tejadhammo), who was a disciple of the great teacher Ajahn Buddhadatta, became one of the monks who helped greatly, not only in conserving nature, but also in revitalising a partially devastated environment.
This film looks at his life, teachings and the impact the chief monk of Wat Pha-Laad was able to have in Chiang Mai province, and the influence that has had in Thailand and throughout the world.
The film is in two parts: in the first we learn something of the history of this great monk, and the second half we hear testimonials from those who worked with him throughout his long career, which were gathered by the filmmakers at his funeral in 2015.
The film was made, and the interviews seem to have been conducted, by the Ajahn’s disciple Zen Master Dae Kwan from the Su Bong Zen Monastery in Hong Kong, and was released in 2019.
