Hi, if I have the basal area for, say 10 circular plots that in total covers one tenth of the entire area of a stand, how do I extrapolate that out to an entire stand? Do i just find the mean BA for my 10 plots, then multiply by # of acres in my stand? Thanks

People usually report basal area as m^2 / ha (or ft^2 / acre). You could simply take the average basal area of your plots and give that as your estimate of basal area for the whole stand.
