Deriving tree density from angle count sample

With angle count plots (Bitterlich plots) we get an immediate estimate of the stand basal area (m²/ha) by just counting the IN trees and multiplying with the counting factor used. The inclusion probabilities with this design are proportional to the basal area of the individual trees, what makes the design very efficient for basal area estimation. However, if we like to derive an estimate of tree density, we need to account for these unequal inclusion probabilities.
