I have to try this, this year. I really like the less tracked nature of Yorkshire Dales.

Rode that route about 10 years ago ..I was thinking about doing it again recently but after watching you do it , it jogged my memory and I think i'll give it a miss !!! LOL loving your vids I've done a lot of the same routes but its good to see a different perspective and sections I haven't done .. Cheers Andy

Andy Phillip I’m going to do it again I think. Or plan something similar in that area. Since this video I’ve got into a little hike a bike and pushing up big hills. And thanks for the kind works 😁

I rode that area back in the 90’s, it has not changed. I did it on those crappy steel rigged hard tails, this video show it’s no easier on a modern bike. Thanks for the reminder fun day.

Defo a dry summers day ride. It was brutal on this day. But enjoyed it. Maybe not at the time on some parts 😂

Great video I live in Longridge and went to see all these views but was in a car haha :p amazing place but damn looks tough to cycle props to you some very dangerous looking parts with sheer cliff drops, jagged rocks and difficult grass not to mention the steepness

The descent down to the farm from 3.25 us an absolute belter....done it 3 times this year.
@TrailFinder4 жыл бұрын
Stevie Dee I need to do this ride again. The descent you’ve mentioned, and others were amazing on this ride. But with it been a new ride to me, the descents were spoiled by having to look down and check the sat nav all the time. Next time will be amazing 👊
@traildoug4155 жыл бұрын
I've had those last three climb/descents on the radar since I lived in Lancaster over 25 years ago as part of a loop using the Roman Road and shooting track over Tarnbrook Fell to the north. Made for good viewing but I don't think I'll be doing it now. Thanks for making my "rides to do" list a tiny bit smaller, there are far too many other rides nearby worthy of the drive from N Wales.. ;)
@TrailFinder5 жыл бұрын
Trail Doug 😂😂. I won’t ever be doing this again either. Descents were great. But absolute killer climbs. I don’t mind abit of hike a bike. But this was terrible 😩

@@TrailFinder The only bit that's not really rideable is the climb from the gate up to Ouster Rake, the rest is doable but hard going. The rake itself is pretty much all rideable for a good (and confident!) descender, the left hand side is very off putting though. The price of an off is quite high! Definitely an area to be ridden in the drier months although we did it at the weekend after all of last weeks rain with the odd squelchy bit. Great video! :)

Great video, I'm the same when cutting through a farm, feels like you are garden hopping. I always have the urge to apologise if I pass any farmer's.

Ha ha. I feel the same. It’s the farms working dogs that worry me. Been attacked twice while passing through so far

I walked along this route the other day and thought it would make a good trail for mtb. I could see tyre marks so thought I would google trails in the area and this video came up! Very impressive riding. I’m only a novice myself, would you say this is suitable for a hard tail?
@TrailFinder4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks. Yes this ride is suitable for a hard tail. The terrain in pretty mellow.

I really enjoyed this video!! Forest of Bowland is my favourite places for road biking...venturing in to mountain biking I’m wondering how you found this route? Any particular website?
@TrailFinder4 жыл бұрын
I got the idea for this ride out of a book called the good mountain biking guide. Looks a good area to investigate further. There is the link in the description to my Strava page. I can also add the trailforks link in if you don’t have Strava premium. You can then just add this ride to your device and go do it

ha ha ha just watched this video , i live in the area and do some of this ride regularly, there is a route/loop out of Chipping which is good for a night ride also when you get up on to Ouster there are three descents, the one you did is locally known as the Dunsop Death Ride ........!!
