Wonderful scenery and remember visiting Dunsop Bridge years ago. It is particularly good to watch your videos now when we are no long permitted to visit these places by car. I enjoy the bleak emptiness of Bowland and the lack of cars on the roads.

What a treat that was and the melancholy soundtrack was fantastic. Areas like this that are empty of people are right up my street as I love solitude on a walk. I know nothing of this area but would love to visit when normality returns, if indeed it ever does.

Thank you again Eric. Yes you'd love the Forest of Bowland, so hopefully, whatever kind of "normality" returns, you will be able to visit one day 👍

I am glad you enjoyed the forest of Bowland i have to say i ve never liked this area of lancashire myself i ve always found it a bleak spot , many times i ve travelled through this area , usually when i was working as a scaffolder years ago and i was always glad to see the next town or village , Dunsop bridge is really nice i ve used that post office and visited the church there ....I suppose i like to see buildings or churchs on the horizon Patrick i ve even travelled this area in winter and maybe that s enough to turn my feelings against it ... But you found something in it which i am glad about , it was nice to see the Villages of Dunsop Bridge and Slaidburn again .... so Thank you as usual my friend Another great film .... Frank and Lee ...

It's funny as, although I don't claim to know Lancashire well, the Forest of Bowland was actually my favourite part of the county. I always remember years ago first driving up that road between Slaidburn and Bentham being so blown away by the bleakness, I just love all that kind of wild countryside. I think Slaidburn is a wonderful little place and when I made this film it was nice to visit Dunsop Bridge for the very first time. Thanks for watching again Frank and Lee. Cheers, Patrick :-)

Have visited the Trough of Bowland,and Dunsop Bridge, (with local tearooms opposite), but not walked in the area. Sounded like a very windy day. Very informative on the area. Beautiful moving music with those lilting chord progressions at the start.

Thanks Shanita, strangely enough this is one of my least favourite scores. I've not walked much around Bowland so would love to return sometime to explore the area properly. Thanks for your kind words and for watching 👍

I agree Patrick it certainly is one of the UK's hidden gems,for years I'v done walks all over,and never once considered coming here,I didn't even know where it was and had seen nothing of it,so once again your film has shown us new places to explore ourselves,I will be doing lots of your walks myself this summer,I noticed a signpost to Clitheroe so I bet it's not too far from there,one I am definately doing is the Railway Children walk,I am going to surprise my wife to a weekend in Clitheroe,and that's something I never thought I'd hear myself say. Thoroughly enjoyable as usual,thanks Patrick. Pete.

I filmed this on the last day I was staying in Clitheroe, so no it's not far away from there. I hope you manage to visit this area too some day. Cheers, Patrick :)

Great vid Patrick, i was here in the summer and had a meal in the Inn At Whitwell they will give you a free booklet with five short walks near the pub. I then traveled from Dunsop Bridge to Sladeburn, the only snag was the roads had just been given a coat of loose stones and I had to drive slow for miles getting the underside of my car peppered.

Grand. Just up the road for me and I try and get there when I can. Sowley Abbey is a good sight for a ruin, plus trees asvpart of the Foest o Bowland. Lancashire, our county is dramatic and beautiful plus just over the boarder to us are t' Dales. Enjoy!

Thanks for watching Mark. It was a joy being here back in 2015 to film this. Hope to return to this part of Lancashire one day. Thanks again! Cheers, Patrick :)

Fabulous time out there Patrick. I really enjoyed the way you shot this - you have an eye for composition for sure and you did the area real justice. Did you know they have eagle Owls there. Now that says something about the wilderness there. Take care. Mark

Hi Mark, thanks for the nice comments. I just adore this area. I didn't know about the Eagle Owls I must admit. I'm pretty hopeless at spotting wildlife when I'm out and about actually! :-) Thanks for watching. Cheers, Patrick :-)

I can tell you love the area Patrick - it's in your voice and demeanor. A pleasure to comment and as for the Eagle owls I just remember a documentary about it. Check this link out kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmeqmZSNr9qUo8U take care.

Stunning views in Forest of Bowland, as is the haunting music track. I know this area too, but not explored it from a walking angle. Lovely to watch and follow your path. Curious to know what's the title of your music ?
@solitaryrambler4 жыл бұрын
Many thanks. I love the Forest of Bowland, would love to return someday if I can. I don't really have a title for the music, but I would consider this my Forest of Bowland theme, which I also used in my Pendle Hill film, but to much better effect :)
