When you do your soft pastels so you just go right over the colored parts with it? If so, does it "stain" those parts at all?

Yes, i go over the colored parts. The pastels i use don't stain the colored parts art all!

Thank you Rita! I was going to color the other side too, but most of the illustrations are similar to the one side. The leaves are similar etc, so I decided to not color it. I think you can use this video to color most of the pictures on the other side too.

Davlina, I bought some really inexpensive soft pastels to try out. We are talking $6.99 cdn for 36 pieces. My question to you is, if I use the gauze pads or make up remover pads with it, there will be no color left on the picture itself? Where I colored with my pencils?

I only use Muyogo Pastels precisely because they don't smudge the areas that i've already colored. The pastels i use are not expensive at all. I would recommend buying those if you don't want to mess up your coloring. Hope I've answered your question.

Thank you Celeste! Most of the time i don't apply too much pressure, unless i am unable to get the look i'm going for. You might see the pencils break sometimes, but that's because i sharpen the pencils too much :)

Davlina, I referred you to someone who was unhappy with the channels she was watching. She said whatever they colored the paper could still be seen underneath and she said it was against her nature to color so lightly. I told her how you colored and explained you definitely can't see any paper, in fact you make it look like it's painted. Needless to say she was excited.

Keni Vrataric I agree 100%. Davlina is one of the best there is on KZbin. What makes her channel so good is #1.) her tutorials are SUPER easy to follow, #2.) if you have questions she is very prompt in answering you and she explains things in a way that's easy to understand (I had a certain "famous" colorist on KZbin be extremely rude to me once and made me feel very stupid.....needless to say, I UN-subbed! Davlina is NEVER rude!) and #3.) she is a FANTASTIC colorist! I love the way she chooses colors and puts them together and her blending is impeccable! You are so right about it looking like paint.....or markers! I have learned so much from watching her channel and following her tutorials and I am certain that your friend will love it as much as me and a whole bunch of other colorists. Happy coloring😊🎨
