Thank you for sharing how you’ve mixed journals with forest hikes. You are the first person I’ve seen make inks. 🌳🍁

Hi Denise. This is a golden oldie! Have you seen this one? It is about my online course for making botanical inks from some everyday plant stuff. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3fLoZ2GiLFsiac Thanks a bunch for touching base. Kelly

I believe the open weave, lacy-type paper you showed in orange is made from Amate bark, from Mexico. It is available from several sellers on etsy.com. Thank you for sharing the beautiful journal. Good luck with the amate bark paper.

I really like this one because if gives you many pages to actually journal in. Its not over done but is very nice. I like to make some journals just to see visual and texture but would actually journal in this book. Very nicely done.

Dear Mary, it is funny you saying that right now! I know exactly what you mean and am just today working on a series of blank books with mixed pages that are specifically meant to get around the problem of the pretty, but impractical "junk" journal. Will also be posting a video on ways to work on text and mixed papers, so stay tuned! 🌻🌷🌼

This journal is WOW! I love the back story of your trip in the woods with the ecoprints and the natural made dies. Absolutely beautiful. Also enjoyed the images you chose to compliment the story.

A stunningly visual and highly tactile delight; I am especially drawn to those nut ink abstracts reminiscent of Japanese watercolor artwork. Cheers and Happy Holidays, Ardith

Kelly, your journal cover is BEAUTIFUL!! I can't wait to go check out your tutorial on how to make eco prints. This is something I've never attempted to do. The walnut ink is another great idea too...thanks for sharing. Also, I love all the owls you've selected from The Graphics Fairy. Hugs!

Nancy, when I teach workshops in my studio, I am always amazed at how many people are paralysed at beginning and need me to "give" them permission. So I decided to include that boost in my tag line!

Beautiful journal! Good luck with your new channel! My art teacher used to make a magnificent walnut ink from a very old recipe used by his father, probably from the 17th century. Wonderful tones!

I love the old methods. There is a kind of alchemy there. Do you know the old Foxfire books, which interviewed country people about their ways?

I LOVE your eco-printed paper!! Do you have a vieo to show your method? I have tried it and had some success - will definitely try it again. I also love the idea of printing out on tracing paper :D

Love your journals, they are amazing!! What kind of glue are you using when you glue tracing paper to the pages? Does it work with vellum as well? I tried to print on tracing paper with my inkjet printer but that didn´t work. Would love to see a lot more videos from you!!
@BookandPaperArts5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks a bunch. I will be using youtube a lot more starting in January. I also have a free journal arts newsletter you can subscribe to on my website! I use an acrylic gel medium such as golden for gluing vellum. It WILL curl like crazy so be prepared to put down some wax paper on top of it and weight it with books or whatnot. Wait a couple of hours and it should be flat and happy.🙂 What happened when you tried to print?
