Some fans have short memories. Start of the season we were all saying “14th would be nice.” I can’t blame a player for not wanting to go to a club that’s been in 2 relegation scraps in a row. He now has seen the project and its efficacy and he’s changed his mind. Big whoop. He’s done exactly what all of us have done as fans. That said, I still think we can attract a better quality of player than him. I think a big move for Marmoush would be the optimal route forward.

A little while back I posted that I’d like us to go in for Alberto and whilst the team were on the phone they should put in a call to Gimenez and just laugh down the phone and hang up…! He used up so much time and his dad was also pretty clear that his son was looking for a big club. FFS he is in the Dutch league! Let them regret it and go for a younger better striker in Alberto. His actions and words in the summer also suggest that his character could be counter productive for the harmony of the dressing room which we can all see is excellent. I see him as a gamble on that front as well.

Watched him play for Mexico against Canada during an international break before he got hurt. He was barely noticeable against a fast back line. Maybe he’s young enough to develop into a decent Premier League striker but I’m wary.

I don't think you can blame him at all. He's got European football, so why would he exchange that for a relegation battle? Now the picture has changed and Forest become an option. It's not bandwagoning--it's Forest suddenly fitting his criteria. As for how he'll fit in, I think most players would understand where he was coming from. It's his personality more broadly that will determine how well he fits in.

Attitude is critical. We don’t need glory hunters. He showed and has shown his true colours. He isn’t in my opinion a good selection because I I am guessing he will disrupt the balance. However, we need to upgrade? Does he fit that bill. If so….. maybe worth a punt…. If the price is right.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't go back in for him. He's turned his nose up at us and now that he see's us doing well, now wants a bit of that action?! Nah thanks mate! Doesn't sit well with me tbh. We want people who want to give their all for the shirt & badge! He had his chance and turned it down. If the club were to go in for him though, I'd really not be offering the same terms & conditions as the Summer window. Like someone said above, only go for him as a loan with an option to buy. Wolfie, if it were up to me, I'd tell him to go... however, we need help in the striker role desperately. I'd look elsewhere first, and if there were no other options available, I'd see if it was possible to get him on a loan deal with option to buy, but I'd be against anymore financial obligation than that, because we aren't completely certain of what it is that we would be taking on, because he buggered us about just a few months ago, only to ultimately reject us. And now after all the other Forest players, and staff have done all the hard work, Gimenez wants to come in, and receive credit. So potentially, he could come in, bring his ego, and his piss-poor attitude, and disrupt the harmony of the team. On the flip side, he might come in with a great attitude, and give us that much needed backup firepower that we so desperately need. Though none of us have a Crystal Ball handy, so a loan would be safer - if at all possible.
