love the video, as always. In case you were interested, here's what the guy in the hut said to you: you're named Loui, and you're named Simon, ok... I don't know French, my friend knows French, but he's gone back home, he's not here... I've lived here a while... then general goodbyes as you were leaving, or speculation about your marital state, the local accent was pretty heavy. Nice to see you visit my birth country! Ming

Hi Forest. I’m a Vietnamese. I don’t know how much help I can interpreted since those ladies are the mountain village people, they are another ethnic group and spoke regional accent. It was difficult for me to make out from the short clip. The tour guy in the gray jacket has a Northern accent and spoke slow enough to make out his word. He was saying something about the road and something about driving/riding.

I used to be an introvert, almost agoraphobic. I just landed from a trip to Colorado where I went hiking in the Rockies for the first time. I did it in your hoodie! I really hope you know how much you inspire people like myself. I went from sitting at a PC all day with back problems to having an overland Tacoma and traveling the US while camping and you are by far my biggest inspiration. Thank you, I know I've said it before but thank you. Every time I come back from a trip and catch a video from you it just reminds me who helped me find this drive. With love. Hope to see you on the trail some day (come down to Pennsylvania!) Andrew

@players624 күн бұрын
@never said otherwise. I agree with you. I hope he keeps exploring the world.
@kmille10144 күн бұрын
@ fair enough, my bad. A lot of Simon's life is online which inherently comes with his core audience expecting the personality and patterns of behavior that he grew out of months or year ago. Your comment wasn't being overtly discouraging or anything, but the entirety of your comment was pointing out some occasionally uncomfortable yet also universal human experiences (people, noises, temporarily restricted independence) and saying that he must be happy to be back within his comfort zone (to me, thats the subtext of "happy to be home" ) . So it seemed like you were insinuating he's incapable of appreciating these experiences, much less seek them out. Imo it'd come off much more positively to avoid presumptions about how he feels personally - content creators notoriously burn out from feeling like the core audience expects the established content/lifestyle. Anyways, I read between the lines a little too much there, sorry. Sounds like we're on the same page and just want him to d what makes him happy!
@players623 күн бұрын
@@kmille1014 no harm ;). It is always challenging to go out of your comfort zone and even exhausting for the body and the mind. For introverts, it takes efforts to do what he’s doing so yes, I’m pretty sure he was happy to come home. My comment had no ill intent. Good day to you.

@wendyrobertson-c6m4 күн бұрын
OMG, this episode was fantastic. Getting to see other cultures is so fascinating. Since I'm unable to travel it's always a stark reminder of just how much I'm missing. It was my dream to retire and travel, but life changes drastically in a blink of an eye and ended my dream so I adapted and moved on in a way that fits what I'm capable of doing. For me not having legs I find that the world isn't quite ready to accommodate wheelchair accessibility which makes travel harder and 100% more expensive when you're dependent on hotels having an accessible bathrooms. Planning a trip takes ten times longer with disappointment being a major part of planning. When you want to g9 to a specific place but the only accommodation is 50 miles away from your planned destination. So videos become a way of seeing things I'll never get to see. I'm so grateful to have the videos that you and others produce. Y'all make travels from my desk so interesting and thoughtful. THANK YOU for all you do. You're awesome! Happy trails and safe travels to you!
