I remember hearing somewhere that these parrots were so easy to shoot because the ones that escaped would go back to tend to dead or dying ones, perhaps to comfort them or grieve. Hunters realized this and took advantage of it, leaving some of the ones they shot in place so that more would arrive.

It’s honestly sad that many amazing animals such as the Carolina conure, thylacine, aurochs, passenger pigeon, and great auk have gone extinct due to us humans. Many animals such as the tiger, African bush elephant, vaquita, little brown bat, painted wolf (also called the African wild dog), Bornean orangutan, black rhinoceros, California condor, and kakapo could be next unless we change our ways. We can help by: 1. Donating to conservation programs. Those people are working on a limited budget and every cent counts if they are to continue their studies and efforts to help preserve Earth’s remaining fauna and wild spaces. 2. Reduce the usage of palm oil. Palm oil plantations are rapidly replacing vast acres of jungle in southeast Asia, rapidly decreasing populations of many animals like siamangs, hornbills, flying foxes, and orangutans. When out shopping, look at labels. If you see any product that uses palm oil, don’t buy it! 3. Give to charity for people. As much as I loathe poaching and poachers with a burning passion, I can’t help but be mad at the incompetent governments of countries that are rife with poaching, such as Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Botswana. By donating to charities (especially to those with money going to Africa), you can help decrease poverty. Many poachers are in poverty and have almost no other alternative to get money. I’m not trying to justify their actions! I’m just saying that in order to help stop this heinous crime, we must try to stop why such heinous crimes are committed. 4. Using less pesticides. Pesticides are rather inefficient compared to animals like bats and spiders. A single little brown bat can eat a thousand or so mosquitoes in a month or two. That would be like a child eating 20 large pizzas. Pesticides also infect animals, and the chemicals in pesticides can accumulate in animals as high up in the food chain as top predators. Pesticides are also killing off very important pollinatiors like bees and butterflies. 5. Have a heart. Put yourself in an animal’s shoes. Think about how you may feel if your kind was being ruthlessly slaughtered for your teeth. Think about how you feel if you were unfairly ousted out of the only home you ever knew and had nowhere else to go.

Yeah I really hope that we can help reduce extinction rate to a minimum because species will go extinct no matter what thats nature but they go extinct because of more natural causes and not because of people. Though if this make anyone feel a little bit better we have figured out how to bring back species, not the full species though it will have slight differences most likely but the technology right now costs too much to use without having a loss in biodiversity but I hope one day that we will figure out how to make it cheaper and be able to bring back the species we let go extinct

I've been going there my whole life, it had a patch of forest on the back that was always loud and full of critters, the last time I went there i saw a cat, then noticed the woods were silent. cats eat all kinds of small animals, mice, insects, birds, sometimes that's all it takes for a small forest to become silent. sorry for the sad story, the video reminded me of it (never release your cat in the wild)

If that many animals went extinct a DAY, then why isn't the only animals left the vermin and the farm animals? Could you guys do one on bats? I started watching videos by megabattie and others about bat rescues in Australia. Bats are much maligned by people. Especially since covid even though it was said that bats weren't responsible for it. In Australia and other places bats survival rates are becoming lower as food become a more scarce. They are being trapped and killed in other countries as well. Some for food but mostly they are considered a nuisance for getting to the fruit that farmers grow. And some simply because bats are hated and considered evil. These creatures aren't harmful. They are helpful to us. Some are insect eaters and help keep mosquito populations down. Most bats are fruit eaters and help to propagate and spread seeds to grow new plants and trees. These adorable creatures have touched my heart. It would be wonderful if you could do a video for bats as well. Maybe it could help raise awareness and help stop the decline of these wonderful creatures.
