Better yet, eat/ use the whole shark. The actual muscle meat is likely more nutritious than the purely cartilaginous fins. I would never eat a shark, but using the whole animal is how they should be consumed, no commercial fishing of them. If possible, make a ring-shaped aquaculture farm for them. Put holes in it big enough for prey and the baby sharks to swim in and out. Only take a few sharks out for their meat, like less than 10 a week.

As someone who always has adored sharks, this hurt to watch. It's an even sadder to realize that this is real and does happen on a daily basis. Sharks may not have vocal cords and therefore cannot scream in pain, but I assure you that they would if they could. Finning devastates shark populations of all kinds and the process is about as inhumane as it gets. You might be afraid of a shark because it can bite, but a shark is afraid of you because you can cut it's fins off and cause it to slowly suffocate or painfully bleed out. Sharks: accidentally eats around 3 people a year Humans: Kills around 1 million sharks a year Also humans: SHARKS ARE DANGEROUS! And this is why I hate humans. I’m disgusted that I even am one, it would be best if all humans went extinct.

I’ve genuinely never cried this much to a KZbin video before. It’s absolutely heartbreaking that people can do things like this to poor defenseless animals. Thank you for spreading awareness about this, I had no idea that this was happening :(

Hmm.. this is sad both to how the shark dies and also a little sadness for wasting meat. Though they should of at least killed them before fin cutting.

I got shook when I realized what this comic was about. HOLY!

I cried for a full three minutes after watching this. Like full on sobbing. I knew it was gonna be sad, but I thought it would be heartwarming. Never the less I'm glad i watched it, I learned things I didn't know before, and it's been a while since I had a good cry. I made a promise to myself that I'd never eat shark fin soup after i found out how unethical and inhumane the process is, and learning more about it makes me wonder why anyone would eat it. I hope more people see this, and some day we put an end to this. The sharks don't deserve this

It honestly must be terrifying, they don't breath if they don't move, imaging someone comes out of the sky, tears off your limbs, amd dumps you off in an area with no air

I can't handle this tragic comic, is this why we've been cruel to them. I didn't know they suffered a lot than us. I didn't know they've been crying for help, until the last breath, i realized we were the monsters

This hits me hard because, as side from dogs who are my number one favorite animals, sharks #1 are my favorite sea creature. Not just any specific type of sharks, all of them.
