Hey guys! I’d love your opinion on this new style of video! Recording in this real-time format is much faster (and more fun) for me to record and edit, but what do you think of the length, quality etc. compared to my other recent videos? Genuinely looking for feedback whether good or bad, so please be brutally honest 😘

You can type math into the transform boxes. “45/2” and it will output the answer. I use this for scaling, positioning and rotation frequently. In fact you’ll find a lot of programs do this. I don’t know why it took me so long to try, but it’s a wonderful feature.

Hi Dansky, thank you for the awesome video. By the way there is an easier way to create the star shape. Sorry if someone already said it. 1. Create a square 2. Duplicate the square and paste in front 3. Rotate one square in 45° 4. Unite both squares 5. Turn on stroke 6. Copy the result paste in front 7. Rotate 22.5° 🤗 Hope it helps

the inner shape is just an 8 point star or a 2 squares angled at 45° , it would be more accurate

This is an awesome tutorial! Instead of pen tool for the inner star you could’ve made a square and rotated it 45degrees the cmd d and boom you’re done! Lol

Aha yea, there's so many different ways! If the angle wasn't exactly 45 degrees, something like squares plus a bit of math would be one way to go 👍

One thing I like to do when I have an original unmodified version of a complex build that I want to keep is to create a separate layer for it, then lock and hide the layer. That way the original version is available should I need it, but it's not cluttering the visual field and won't accidentally get included in a Select All operation or something similar.

You do know that you dont have to do any calcs...just put say 45/2= (or whatever the numbers you need) in the entry box and its works it out for you...for numbers that simple you wouldnt need to obviously but for more complicated calcs it saves any brain scratching ! Same in just about every Adobe data input box in all CC apps, has been around for years and years

You can easily achieve the shape inside by making two squares overlapping each other in 45 degree

Why did you do the math in your head to get the 22.5? Just type 45/2 in the rotation and let AI do the math for you.
