The depth at flyhalf looks good. Tony Brown was a brilliant attacking flyhalf. His involvement should take all these prospects to an even higher level. That is his job and, from what we have heard, Tony is excellent at his job.

Creativity works at URC level however at test level the opposition shuts down most creativity. Example is how the Boks shut down the French in the France WRC quarters. This is why you need that solid, dependable and strong line breaker at Test level i.e. Pollard, Honiball types to win at rugby world cups.

100% agree test level is a different beast. Took libbok some time to get used however, let’s see who else can rise to that level !

Suddenly we have options at 10. The beauty of having a strong pipeline is that the players push each other. Masuku breathing down Manie's neck might be the best thing for Manie to really play to his potential. Longer term I would love to see SFM and Jordan Hendrickse stay healthy and injury free. They're my top picks post 2027.... I was/am a huge Kade Wolhuter fan but it shows you how quickly an injury can put you down the pecking order.

When does Pollard experience pressure for selection though? It's always Manie that must watch his back but never Pollard.

@@theultimatesharpshooter6734 No player should be safe in their position. I feel Pollard didn't always have someone pushing for his spot. I mean 2 years ago, Elton and an ageing Frans Steyn were our best backup options when Handre and Damian were not available.

@@LionOnSea But I am talking about in the current discourse. People are still saying Handre is the undisputed first choice for this year when his form has been so poor at club level compared to other flyhalves in his league. Whereas the discussion with Siya and Manie it's almost like they must wait their turn until Pollard gets injured.

@@theultimatesharpshooter6734 Sure. I guess it depends who you talk to. Guess a lot of local fans don't bother watching the Prem. I would think Manie and Pollard share starts at 10 in the Rugby Champs. Who would you start vs Ireland? (considering they probably go 6/2 or 7/1 bench)

The question we not considering is if Pollard is the best option. Looking at his form at Leicester Tigers doesn't inspire confidence that he will take the Springboks forward this year, whereas Manie, Nohamba and Siya have all shown to be real points of difference at their clubs. For me in terms of form at the moment the rankings for flyhalf will be: Manie Siya Pollard Nohamba I know the coaches will be tempted to pick experience at 10 but they have to consider who has a higher ceiling in the Springboks.

Sacha should take it over nohamba bcos Sacha plays centre, fullback as well as fly half. Scrumhalf is choked if Faf drops out in like a year or 2 bcos the stormers scrummy that was dropped for the RWC is still young and he's a world cup winner so he will come back so I don't c us taking him not to contribute at scrumhalf or at flyhalf as a 3rd Choice. I say Sacha is the 1st choice bcos of talent and versatility. Siya is arguably the inform fly half and probably thee most talented as a 3rd choice flyhalf and maybe a 2nd or 3rd choice full back.
