Forge Upgrade 2 Burners or 4 Burners making it a selectable feature.
Using a 3 way valve and a check valve, manifold isolation.
This is a very nice forge, fuel efficient and quiet.

Randy- What a fantastic modification! Especially with Propane costs the way they are. I always envisioned a foot pedal valve that would allow the forge to drop down to 20% to keep the heat and after forging and when ready to re-Heat you could step on the foot valve bringing the burners to 100% until your ready to hammer again. The only time those full time forges are great is when your shop is freezing! 😂😃👍

I think alec steel did automatic forge that used solenoid valve and temperature probe to maintain constant temperature. Your idea is easy -you need to connect a single line to a burner with a solenoid valve on it and then make a bypass tube(around the solenoid valve) with a needle valve for maintaining heat. When you push the button(or pedal on the floor) solenoid valve opens and you got your 100% power .

That turned that into a nice setup Randy! Even my two burner setup in my shoeing rig gets plenty hot, so half the time I only have the valve open a quarter crank while trimming a foot so by the time I'm done my steel is red hot and ready to shape. By doing that usually I can make a 40lb bottle last for three weeks shoeing horses 4-5 days per week. Thanks for the video!

This is working great. I also fill half the forge with fire brick if I don't need the space. Thanks Jayce.

I like your forge. Funny the manufacturer didn't do it like that. -20 today. You can run that in my shop all day. I would like that.

Nice. You're going to like those annular cutters more and more. Super handy. Use them in both my mill and lathe. Toolmex makes a one piece R8 to 3/4" annular holder, and Morse Taper to 3/4" annular for the lathe tailstock. Best tubing notcher there is. Time for a new bandsaw blade! 🙂

Nice conversion Randy! Good luck! I love annular cutters, first time I did a job with them I was a convert for life. I made a couple of tool holders for my TTS mill tooling. I drilled up plates of Aluminum with a 6x6 pattern of holes and the Annular cutter just ate up all those holes and all perfect and I was duly convinced. The only downside is the Bird's Nest to deal with on each hole but only an annoying side effect and my extra long bent nose long nose pliers I keep next to the mill for just such a mess to deal with. Good content Randy...

Surprised you didn't just go with 4 ball valves and control them individual. Seems you have more plumbing this way.

Master Piece and should patent this ?? Q ? Is a #10 cup your go to from most tig welds? And at 13 mins in, using an angular cutter worked out perfect, but did that plug get fished out, are has a new home inside the frame ?? Brilliant design and didn't take fusion 360 to design, but that would be cool to draft up and take to the Patent office ? Just a thought - What about using a divider out of ceramic to split the flame while using only the 2 burner for now and reducing the gas flow to that burner with the ball valve?
