I had a jb4 on my 135i ,nothing but trouble ,best thing I did was through it in the trash and tuned it properly.

Couldn't agree more with that, nothing but issues with boost or fuel control with it. Its not bad for auxiliary fuelling i have found but nothing beats a real ecu tune

I'm just starting my first build on a 2017 330I x drive b46 2.0 T currently running Mg Flasher stage 1 ,XHP stage 1,2,3 as well as x delete 😀 currently went back to awd. CAT Delete and Resonator Delete Drop in K&N filter.

@@NavardiTuned it would be and will be as i get more involved and more information on detuning the block to a 1.5 L twin turbo 9 or 10,000 rpm forged 4 Cylinder would oike to stay AWD But more than likely for suspension reasons with F80 control arms. Ill more than likely go RWD with a Manual 6 speed swap the rear subframe with a M3. Upgraded drive shaft. Do a brake upgrade. The interesting part is finding a builder for the engine first off. The rest is easy with money 💰 😀. Trying to build a engine of that caliber with reliability will be the test.

Unfortunately as per the video, I never got a chance to find out, but the turbo is rated for 450-500whp, and the motor is rated for about 800whp. There will be some results once current global situations due to COVID-19 ease. As it stands right now all Motorsport tracks and "non-essential" travel prevents any of us guys from getting one of our cars to the dyno or drag strip.

The N20 engine on my x1 stalled couple of days ago on the highway out of nowhere...the engine cranks now but it won't fire up! What are the chances that replacing the timing chain would resolve the issue as I'm 90% sure it's the timing chain guides...or would you suggest doing an engine swap?

@ The guides are broken. What do you mean by 'timing very off'? If the timing has jumped teeth (Which is most likely the case) replacing the timing chain assembly would fix the issue wouldn't it? Unless the valves are bent...( In order to replace the timing chain assembly along with the guides, you'd need a specific timing tool that would set the timing)

@ The engine has 160k (km) on it...I bought the vehicle only a month before the incident. I was told by the seller the oil has recently been changed so I didn't bother checking the oil or filter...however after the incident I cracked opened the oil filter housing and the engine oil was pretty dark like it hasn't been changed in a while...

@@8442116 I see you have pretty much already been given a correct response. If the guides are broken likely damage to the Valve Train and pistons. best advice is to either replace with used motor, or forged rebuild. I wouldn't attempt to repair since it will end up costing as much as a rebuild.
