That is the simplest yet elegant method ive ever seen.

@wrotiron about how thick is that sheet metal you're using?
@wrotiron6 ай бұрын
@averythomas8485 I just now saw this message and I'm terribly sorry for not responding sooner, for all of our roses I use 16g plate steel.

I have been "binge" watching videos on how to make metal roses-(mine will be copper), and out of the dozens so far, yours is the only one made by a proper metalworker, so, I am going to copy(hope you don't mind) to produce a dozen roses for my wife for our next anniversary. Thank you for sharing your skill.

Beautiful rose! Your petal pattern is slightly different from the one I've been using, and I like yours better, so thanks for sharing!

Thank you, I drew these up about 6 months ago but have only recently been using them.

Wonderful work! I've tried clear coating pieces like this with a lot of texture and the smallest cracks and dents sometimes rust anyway. How do you like to finish these? Any suggestions?

Hia iv made these same way only different thing i did was to put spot welds on the stem to look like buds very nice job take a long time to make,stay safe

Very nice work. Do you seal the roses with anything or just leave the bare?
@wrotiron6 ай бұрын
We clear coat with rustoleum and or will paint the bloom in varied colors if desired. The stem and finial are always just steel with clear coats.

Very nice job! I use a hand held sheet metal shear to cut my pedals out (hate grinding lol) and forge my leaves from round stock.. nice to see different techniques :) You are very talented! Thank you for sharing
@wrotiron4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comments, I often do the leaves from round but this has been pretty popular in our store. Thanks again.

Do you put a makers mark on your roses and other small projects? How and where do you do it.
@wrotiron4 жыл бұрын
I always last them with the leaf up. So on the underneath side of the rose petal on the bottom I typically engrave EPI and the year very small. I plan on making a touch mark just haven't settled in a design yet.

Beautiful!! 3 questions ... How long does it take you to make the rose? How are you heating it, forge or torch? How are you getting all the scale off and shining it up?
@wrotiron3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, and I use a forge. I can make one from start to finish in about 45 minutes and for scale after shaping I tap it on the plate surface and use a high carbon steel brush
