So surprising to see such old games in good condition

Yes, the condition of some of these games is astounding.

I have always enjoyed watching your content because you do take your time shooting the video focusing on the games physical condition, packaging, explaining briefly what you found which is really very informative for us new generation. Keep it up and I can't wait to see what more retro gaming at different store locations in Japan.

I like these videos by JJ Abrams, cuz he's fast talking, unlike that Pyo-Pyo fan, which takes forever for him to go thru some games. And here we're learning numbers too, a lot of numbers.

Real people know that Book Offs are simply the best place to video game hunt in Japan. Akihabara is overrated and overpriced
@RetroReWire Жыл бұрын
Haha, I visit Akiba almost weekly, you just never know you'll find! BOOK OFF is a solid place to shop for games. I recently scored an AMAZING deal on KoF 99 for the Neo Geo AES. Cheers!

Great video! The reason for the price difference on the PS5s - the cheaper one's are the PS5 Digital (only) and the other ones are the one's with the blu-ray drive.
@RetroReWire Жыл бұрын
Right on, haha. I completely overlooked that. I visited a different shop recently and they had the all digi version higher than the disc version. Maybe due to missing accessories. Cheers!

I am not sure about the power supply specifications of the PS5. If it can handle 100v-240v, you should be fine. Depending on where you live, you may need an adapter for the prongs, too. Cheers!

I'm curious, while staying in Japan, have you found and new game or series that you was not aware of before and got into it? Apart from Mario business.
@RetroReWire Жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! I can more easily answer your question if we substitute a game for hardware. In this case, it would be the 3DO! I don’t have many games for 3DO, but I’m playing through all the ones I do have and enjoying the experience quite a bit. I specifically got it to play the director’s cut edition of D’s Diner. Cheers!

Don't have facebook... Any advice on which stores to try for finding a used 'new' 3ds? Any idea what the prices are like? Thanks. Will be in Japan early September to try my luck on various old stuff.. Wii U looks interesting in this vid...
@RetroReWire Жыл бұрын
I hit up many shops on a weekly basis and no joke - the New 3DS is a hot item, be it the standard or LL. Prices will vary based off location, but in the Tokyo area you’re looking at roughly ¥18,000 and beyond. Some can be less than perfect and may fall below the avg price. I had a look online, Mercari, Surugaya and Hard OFF net mall, and prices are mostly in-line with prices in stores. A few go for a tiny bit less, but they tend to sell quick. The big positives are that you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding one at well known stores (like Book Off, Hard Off, or Surugaya) and you may not need to pay sales tax. There’s also a chance to score one in sweet condition, below the average asking price, but that’s gonna take some lil bit of luck and destiny. Cheers! jp.mercari.com/item/m44944222159 netmall.hardoff.co.jp/product/3420645/ www.suruga-ya.jp/product-other/104012268 www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/4-90237E-12-New-Nintendo-White/dp/B00NAW5R0I/ref=sr_1_3?crid=22C4GFKXTKCZU&keywords=new%2Bnintendo%2B3ds&qid=1692338508&sprefix=new%2Bnintendo%2Caps%2C164&sr=8-3&th=1

@RetroReWire Жыл бұрын
The Switch is region free. I also have a NA region switch, and I play JPN, EU and ASIA region games without issues. The games will update, too. In order to claim gold coins, a JPN region game will require a JPN e-shop account and so forth. In regard to language, you will need to research it online. Select shops in Akihabara will also state what language a game supports. Cheers!
