Yeah. It's been great to see the progression of the bikes as well. This is definitely their most refined option to date 👌

Ive recently gone back to long travel trail bike from full enduro rig as I just preferred the agility and climbing ability vs out and out DH performance. The trail bike was arguably better in tight off piste situations as well. I I was Bird I would be super pleased with the balance of information, entertainment and the quality of the footage in the edit, superb!

Aw man, the new bird looks stunning. Been eyeing one of these for a while to replace my am9 but I ended up buying an ebike during the sales. Its a shame bird has to shelve their ebike. Great vid as always

how did they get down to 12.6 kg with a 160mm 29er is beyond me.
@streetpigeonmtb5 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure the one I was riding was more like 14kg. Nice to have a capable bike that is light. Makes the climbing a lot more fun 😁

Are they Downhill tyres? It must be made for some serious hits. I normally run Trail up front and gravity rear. That’s saves about half a kilo
@streetpigeonmtb6 ай бұрын
Not downhil tyres. Tacky Chans with trail/enduro casings I think. You are right though, tyre choice plays critically into weight. I would say the Tacky Chans were seriously impressive. Seemed to have great rolling resistance but big grip on the loose/slippy stuff.
@leetori16 ай бұрын
@@streetpigeonmtb I’m looking a a chan front with rock razor rear for summer and trail centres. I use magic Mary and Big Betty in the wet slop and winter

@@streetpigeonmtb where is it located on the hill? Didn't recognise the start or finish at all!
@duncanurquhart65086 ай бұрын
I understand why you have internal routing on this but don't remove the option for external on your alu frames as that is becoming a real USP and massive incentive for my new Aether.
@streetpigeonmtb6 ай бұрын
👍😁
@bird_mtb6 ай бұрын
Its because on the carbon frames we run a straight tube for the post, then route past the BB - to give massive dropper insertion. Adding an external routing for the dropper would interrupt the seat tube insertion and mean we lost the huge depth. So, if we can't externalise the dropper for that reason, we chose to internalise them all.

@a8f2356 ай бұрын
@@streetpigeonmtb I bought a Pivot Switchblade in 2022 that is still in great condition, so I got all the bike that I need. I also have no option to demo this brand in my country. I did actually consider this brand when I was looking back in 2022, but I found the bike I own now at a local bikeshop just sitting there and with all the right parts etc. The choice was simple. I still like what Bird is doing and I think they just also need a bit more recognition in general, because I still hardly ever hear about this brand at all. Think it flies under the radar of most to be frank.

cut and paste Rocky mountain Slayer or /Ari La Sal peak? I don't see any innovation here, nice bike but nothing stands out, most bikes come with lifetime bearings.
