They grew apart. She should have broken up with him before cheating, then it would really be on him. The interesting part about this movie is that they’re suggesting that Sarah potentially regrets the breakup. But honestly, from what she was describing their relationship sounded so bad at the end. She’s just experiencing the common “What if I made a mistake” phenomenon people always experience after a breakup. She’s truly better off on her own too.
