Thanks for the continuation of the project videos, and glad to learn it's gold leaf, not gold paint. Would still like to see a video on your gilding process, not that I'm about to invest in the gold to do it myself!

Man I'm a young Christian and been forging longer than I have been serving and watching you work iron to the glory of God is wonderful. Man was created to work and although we are in a sin cursed world doesn't mean we can't provide in a job we like. You don't have to hate work you sometimes may not feel like it

Roy, healing up from my knee replacement. Watching this video. What size of material did you use to make the leaf turning stake?

Any special reason for not using hot rivets? Not a criticism, just curious and lacking knowledge on such things.😁 I would have expected the rivets to be glowing when they went in.
@shadetreeforge3 жыл бұрын
Trying to place a hot rivet in that application would be almost impossible! depending on the rivet and size of rivet, setting them cold like that is possible. Larger rivets in applications such as that would be placed cold but the stem would be heated with a torch and then peened over.
@2H80vids3 жыл бұрын
@@shadetreeforge Thank you Frank. You mean physically holding/carrying/placing such a small rivet would be too difficult with tongs? That does make sense. They'd be a bit hot to use tweezers. 😁 Would using a bigger rivet have any advantages. Torches must be a 𝑓𝑎𝑖𝑟𝑙𝑦 recent development surely?

Iv noticed that when blacksmith make tools for the vice that they don't put shoulders on them like they do for hardy tools why is that
