I see you leave the eye/socket open rather the welding, forge welding, riveting, or riveting and then forge welding after. I wonder why you leave it open and in your opinion which of all the ads would be the best to do? Thank you.

Beautiful work Robin. Very tricky the way you form a tapered eye by first creating a bend. I love it. Quick question, what kind of rounding hammer are you using? It looks like it has a pein on one side and a point on the other side with a flat face and a round face. I've never seen one like it. Any idea where I could get one?

Aram Nigoghossian Thanks Aram, the rounding hammer is about thirty years old and is a farriers shoe turning hammer by Whitehouse Forge of Sheffield I gave one face a more convex finish which proves very useful
