Cool anvil! Mine is a 98 lb block of 4140 I got from the local steel yard . It works for me. And I built my own propane forge , just got it going recently as well as my new shop. New subscriber here 🙂

@@Mysticmountainforge have you seen or heard of a channel called GS tongs? Glenn is his name and I believe he has the most unique style of blacksmithing. He runs outta Taiwan. 👍

Can you post the link for the pattern
@Mysticmountainforge3 жыл бұрын
I free hand draw all of my patterns, but you can probably find some good ones by searching free hidden tang knife patterns on google. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!

But doesn't hammering on Damascus or San mai alter or change the design of the pattern, wouldn't have been smarter to forge the tang and cut out the blade
@Mysticmountainforge3 жыл бұрын
Yes it does, the pattern in this Damascus is a random pattern over a 1084 core so it actually will help make it more interesting, if I were doing it from a billet of ladder pattern or some mosaic Damascus I would have cut in a pre form and finished the blade via stock removal. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
