In my opinion, the kukri is one of the most beautiful and functional blade designs ever. I prefer it over a hatchet or machete for a bushcraft, survival or camping tool. Very nice work. Love your vids.

The kukri has been one of my favourite tools for more than 50 years and I have been fortunate to own one made by the traditional blacksmiths of Nepal. It is an awesome tool. But you, my friend have taken it to a new level. That process you talked us through and all the different steps undertaken to turn out the final product was just so informative, it was like being there with you during the process. You are a master craftsman who has great skill and a very good touch. I envy your skill and it would be a dream come true to own one of your masterpieces. Brilliant work!

The look on your face, albeit was subtle, when you cut clear through that first branch as if it were merely just air is priceless. Nicely done!

As creative and skilled you are in crafting blades, I also appreciate the handles that go with them. The beautiful selection of materials (especially the rarer woods) are very complementary to the blades' appearances. Thanks for sharing!

great video! i love kukris. the originals did have a stop against your hand sliding up during stabbing though; there was a raised ridge around the handle that fit between the 2nd and 3rd fingers. it's effective, too. this is a great build, thanks for posting it. always in admiration of your skills.

From what I've read the Gurkhas used these as an everyday utility tool for chopping wood, animal slaughter and butchering as well as for dispatching their enemies.

Great video. Question though. Have you checked the grain after the sub anneal? I'm wondering after normalizing then sub process if your getting anything from a grain refinement series. I've always just did sub and my grain looks really good. Thanks for the video.

Great work as always! Maybe it's your personal decision or what steel was left after all the process but why do you leave some of the "forge" look on your blades? Sometimes you do it, other times you don't. So, I'm leaning more to personal decision.
@FireCreekForge2 жыл бұрын
Yep, it depends on the look I'm going for
@bf65542 жыл бұрын
@@FireCreekForge Got it, thanks for responding. Just from watching a lot of knife/sword/axe/ smiths, the ones I watch don't leave a lot of the "forge" "untreated" "pitted" looks on their blades. Maybe they have more time to produce their blades for their videos. I know you are a family man so I get it.
