Forging A Repurposed Meat Cleaver From A Giant Gear
I found this giant gear at the junkyard and it inspired me to make my first meat cleaver. I left the teeth of the gear on the back side of the cleaver so you would know what it was made from. I used nickel silver for the handle scales with brass pins.

Nice! But that 90 degree angle where the blade meets the tang needs to be rounded at the corner. The reason is that is where stress will accumulate and fracture the knife. Rounding it will spread it out. Love your work! Especially the transmission gear knife!

I'm not in love with the handle, but it is good looking, I'm wondering how it feels in the hand. I prefer wood usually. I like one tapered to fit the hand, not making your hand fit the handle. Nice work, no denying that, but just doesn't suit my particular tastes.
