This is my neighbor from down the road. He has at least 16 serious cuts and one he had to go to hospital 😂😂 11 stitches in the gut. I about pissed myself when he screamed CALL 911 CALL 911 for a brief second I started laughing till he turned around with this think in his gut. I yelled at him not to pull it out. Thank God he listened. He keeps trying to do that foot through. One other bad shot was the dart broke off the chain and hit his mom's windshield. I heard her and him fighting . He scream J C , your more pissed about your windshield than when I went to hospital and got stitches. She started balling and said , that's cause I almoust lost you. He felt like crap. Have not seen him since that day. He came out and said You gotta go home man. I wasn't allowed over cause the SOB told his parents it was my idea and design. Now he is into blowing things up. My parents jump and cuss.

To be honest spearhead can slip from pipe. It should be drilled and there should be metal pin to hold it in place. Rest is ok. I made something similar but using old file for longer blade.

I bought a 1x30 years ago and started to get somewhat decent. I lost interest. Recently, I grabbed another one. I can get stuff pretty sharp. Maybe in a few months I'll get the hang of it.

I must have missed the part where you heat-treated the blade. I thought you were going to forge that chisel point into a leaf-shaped spear point. I'm not a fan of the fat, diamond shaped blade.

I find that the oil makes a mess out of the sander and the work area. Metal filings stick to everything and the plastic pulleys do not like the oil. I guess it's just me.

beautiful result. i like that you hardened the steel first. most folks just grind it down and the result is a soft steel spear which is useless.

Just getting into knife making, quick question. If you are doing stock removal with tool steel that’s already been heat treated and hardened is the heat treat and quench necessary once the stock is removed? If so why? I didn’t think the steel would get hot enough from the sanding to mess with the molecular structure of the steel, but I’m no expert and if that is not the case id love to learn more.
