It is amazing how carying rebar can be in carbon content. I had one liece tvat would crack and crumble(maney sulfur content too high or phosphorus) i cut that piece off and tbe rest forged nice and water quenched decently hard not good blade hard but better than mild steel. Great stuff to practice on.

I would love to see you tackle a big hewing axe in the manner of Joey. Or maybe a Damascus Dane axe with a wrought iron & cable/spring steel body and an Allen wrench bit. You seem to enjoy making pattern welded billets more than anyone I've seen. Good to see your work, as always.
