Today we’re forging a tanto style blade out of a six inch section of 5/8” coil spring. Next time we’ll be making the habaki, saya, tsuka, and mekugi pin.
Thanks for watching and enjoy!

Whoa! A new knifemaking video! It's been a long time. Your channel is how I got into knifemaking about 5 years ago, I did my first craft show in december and made 700 bucks so thanks I guess

Nick it is so nice to see you making videos again. I made a simple PVC bow for my nephew couple of years ago thanks to your videos. And he is still using it. I love a good knifemaking video. Hope to see many more new videos in your channel soon. :)

Please showcase the forge you used in this, it seems simple and nicely portable, without the need for electricity👍

I have all those tools and still don't have the abilities you have, minus a fordge! How long does it take to straighten out a piece of spring? How long did you hammer out that blade? Those two questions & answers you should mention at the end of the video. Just saying! Thanks for the demo!✌😎🏴‍☠️

I believe it is a high temperature/fire clay to keep the spine of the blade soft for durability

This is so basic… no gas forge, no anvil, no vise, no belt sander, not even a drill… no machine tools except the grinder and didn’t really need that… Bare bones basic as you can get! 😎👍 Nice to see you again Nick! - made a lot of bows from your videos! Hope to see you back as a regular again.
