Had to try this. Used the fiberglass rods I have here. They are 3/8 so I was only able to put 3 in. A 48 inch, 36 inch and a 24 inch and got a 60 lb bow at 28 inches, This was so much fun. Thanks so much.

Made this one with the 5 pieces of 3/8 fiberglass. Got a 70 inch (68 nock to nock) bow that is 72 lbs at 28 inches. Thank you so much for showing us what is possible.

nice finish! i know this is a pretty long ago post but thought i'd try and ask a couple questions..is that shoe "polish" or shoe "dye"...the applicator bottle looks like kiwi dye but i see there is also "instant shine" polish with the same type applicator... also, how long is the dry time? with low heat blow dryer vs without heat at room temp? again, really nice finish.

14:05 Another glaring problem. If the catholics have decided that the mystery of the Eucharist, which is (normally) necessary to partake of for salvation, is to not be *given* to Children until they are at the age of reason, then with this same line of logic, shouldn't their baptism also be held back after the age of reason? After all, baptism is also the normative form necessary for salvation, yet children are baptised without that personal "devatio" which Aquinas mentions is necessary (supposedly for a sacrament to be efficatious, as with anointing of the Sick according to him). So if it is meet for children to be denied the Sacred Gifts on the grounds of "non Devatio" (no devotion/reason), then isn't it also sufficent to deny them baptism until they are at an age for reason? No wonder why the Baptists, evangelicals and other Low-Liturgical types hold on to credobaptism so firecely.

Gonna get the stuff to build this tomorrow. I tried the original version today and had it shatter where the nocks were cut when I dropped the pipe on concrete. This nock design looks much more sturdy. I'm thinking for the handle I'll put it just below center so that the arrow is centered on the bow when I draw. I think I'm also gonna wrap the bow in duct tape before painting to contain any shards in case of shattering per your video on containing pvc shards.

I followed your process across the vids and made my daughter a beauiful bow for her Halloween costume as an Elf. An old poster tube painted brown along with some wooden dowels from HD and some goose feathers and a hot glue gun. Ran an old brown leather belt through the length of it and taped some black gorilla tape around it using pinking shears (to give it a ragged edge) and a gold enamel pen to write in Elvish ! I made a really good approximation of what you showed us. She was overjoyed and it all cost less than $30. (Just a plastic elven knife was $15 in the store.) Thanks belately for the show and build and tell :)
