I made a YUGE timber framing chisel from a leaf spring.

Very nice work, I've been wanting to make a timber framing chisel and slick, but am not skilled enough at blacksmithing to attempt the socket, was thinking to do a full tang like on knives.

Yup. Full tangs are defiantly easy. And strong too.

Dude, there's a reason you don't find many "full tang" wood chisels. The handle is very important for softening the blow of the hammer and dampening the vibrations. Full tang chisels are used in forges because wood couldn't withstand the heat.

Why is it important to soften the blow of the hammer? This isn’t a fine-woodworking chisel it’s for making mortise and tenon joints in beams and shaving off large amounts of wood. I actually prefer the full tang over fully wooden handles.
