I really like the idea but it doesn't seem deep enough for a wok

Just wondering why rivet the handles instead of welding? Don’t the rivets get in the way?

Hi, nice job, i just wanna ask you, do you know the composition of this discs? is it 1075, 1070 o maybe 1080? and what about the flat ones? thank you!
@IronWolfIndustrial5 жыл бұрын
No idea unfortunately.. the stuff kind of welds like cast iron. Not sure at all the composition. Stress fractures appeared after welding it the first time.

Great job...enjoy your videos. Are you using your forced air blower propane forge with any of your smithing projects?
@IronWolfIndustrial7 жыл бұрын
Scott, when I first built it, I used it for a bit of Mokume Gane. However, even with that, I now use coal. Started blacksmithing on coal, and still prefer it over gas. However, what's a good project for that gas forge? Send an idea, and I'll put together a video. Thanks

Sir, How did you weld the hole in the harrow disc closed? Lost me after you cut the wood block with the band saw.
@IronWolfIndustrial6 жыл бұрын
Vince, this was a tricky process, and I am still not sure if it entirely worked. I did a very intense preheat operation using a coal forge, and got the disc to an orange color, with the metal square tacked in place in the middle. From there, I welded it out while it was cherry red, heated it up again, and let it cool slowly over the forge. This stuff doesn't really want to weld. You might want to try some stainless rod/wire, as that can help with high carbon to low carbon welding, or even brazing. Most times, when you grind it out and hit it with a flap disc, you can see and feel hairline cracks right at the edge of the weld zone.

@@IronWolfIndustrial You did it right. Must preheat and weld it when it is Red Hot. Good job bro!!

Very nice work, but it's actually a Discada, not a Wok.

Awesome job man, were you flattening the bolt heads?
@scottlowther76984 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing he was using the bolts just temporarily hold it in place while he put the rivets in 🤔
