Is there a reason why you chose to drill the holes after you have you have formed the ladle? It would seem safer to drill the holes before hand, or does that distort the holes when you go to form the ladle?

Can you use copper utensils for cooking anything? I have a bunch but everyone keeps saying not to use due to reactivity

Also, don't use BENT drill bits.

So did you buy that swage block or did you make it? If you bought it can you share where you bought it from? I was thinking of making a swage block for dishing a laddle by taking a hollow half sphere out of 1/8" mild found on King metals and welding it into a steel box with a chunk of square tube welded to the bottom so I can clamp it in my vice. Do you think that would work? Thanks and great vid by the way :)

For drilling the holes- try using a wooden convex block raised up so you can move your ladle bowl all around it easily while still maintaining good friction hold.

If you don't need them super accurate, how about drilling them before you form it and then run the drill bit through afterwards to clean up the holes if they deformed?

Have you tried drilling from the opposite side? That way your bit is naturally at a 90 degree angle to the work ;O)
