Hope you guys enjoyed. Sad the bandsaw broke but hopefully ill find a way to tile this.

Good job so far! I would cut it at 30 degree angles and tile it, the accordion method is sketchy. Next time I recommend you don’t remove the ends until you cut it up, it’s not necessary. Nor is grinding all 4 sides smooth, just 2 since those are the mating surfaces. Looking forward to see how it turns out! 👍

What was the other steel used to separate the cable? And why did you only press the ends with the square die and not the whole can? I'm genuinely curious btw.
@JPsBladeworks Жыл бұрын
Good questions. The steel i used i dont remember, but 95% chance its 1084. The reason i didnt press the sides is because everything was already welding inside with the angle dies. I pressed the top to flatten is and consolidate it all into a square so i can get a clean looking billet. If not the ends would end up bulged and tossed away when i cut it open. Plus it helps get a clean pattern if everything is compressed as evenly as possible.

@@josephlyons473 thank you. Do you mean like the one Neil Kamimura made? He posted it on his instagram. That thing was a beast.
