Very clever Joel....and that torch is great at giving some localised heat.

Yeah Harry, the oxy-propane is a god send quite often! You can do it in the forge & quench either side, but that's a needless faff if you've got the gas gear.

Hey man I just wanted to let u know I just seen ur video with Harry rogers and I had to tell u what u said is exactly what I have thought about myself only my case is being a wood worker and I'm talking about where u didn't think ur self as a blacksmith until u could forge weld. I always thought I shouldn't call myself a wood worker until I could hand cut dovetails and make a complete project all by hand and using no power tools. It just blew me away how much u hit it on the head as to what I was thinking. And I'm in the same boat with u again as to self teaching myself almost everything and there is no way I could have done half the things I have without KZbin. It has truly been an amazing teacher if everyone could think of KZbin this way and not all about stupid stuff that don't even give ya a laugh. then It might be possible for a lot more people to be able to tackle jobs they never thought possible. We can blow all of our ancestors out of the water with using KZbin cuz they didn't have this kinda tool back then so they would just cobble something together cuz they had no way of asking someone half way around the world how they would do it. And now such an amazing tool is right at my fingertips and I thank you for posting videos like this teaching what u know. I am a woodworker but I still like to learn as much as I possibly can when it comes to crafting something by hand. But thank you again for what you do you truly make it look extremely easy and make ppl like me want to learn more about this craft and possibly even start it myself. I live in the U.S. so the likelihood of us ever meeting is very slim but at the same time if u continue to make videos like this then it's like all of us being there with u. Sorry for the long comment but hope u have an awesome day

Hiya, no worries, glad you enjoyed Harry's video, it's not easy working & talking when someone's pointing a camera at you! Haha yep, good ol' KZbin has even helped me fish my washing machine a few times!!!
