I laugh every time when someone makes an exceptional sword and tests its sharpness by cutting a pumpkin or watermelon or fish. These 2 swords are amazing though

Well you see that because the old way of testing a Katana is more than a little frowned upon today as finding 4 human test subjects is very easy to do since if the sword is sharp enough they all die if not they get to roll the dice again and pray

Really nice sword. love seeing all the manual labor that went into it. I also really liked when you had the other 2 guys join you while sanding the blade and you all sanded in a collective motion, very cool.

色々思う所は有ると思いますが、中国人は施設への資本投資を惜しまない所が凄いですね。あらゆる設備が揃ってるビルダーですね。センスもマズマズですので其れなりに注目を浴びるとは思いますが投資に見合う注文が取れるかは疑問ですね。彼らに注文する中国人は最早居ないでしょうし、外国からの注文が来るとも思えませんからね。中国産の安くて出来の良いナイフは既に大量生産されて海外に出回ってますので特別な一品物なら有名なビルダーが既に多く居ますから特注品でも余程安く無ければ注文は無いでしょう。安ければ投資額を回収出来ませんから相当苦しいと思います。日本刀の刀匠も慎ましい生活ですし、海外のビルダー達もそんなに裕福ってワケでは無いのでグループで遣ってる様ですが儲けを期待してるなら難しいと思います。

You're clearly an artist, the big "2000 Celsius" number its just bait, you don't need it, everyone works their steel under that temperature, unless you're melting or smelting Damascus welds at 1500 to 2000 Fahrenheit, witch is very different from 2000 Celsius

@@赤外線ヤーマン42 一般的に、ナイフは刀身の短いもののことだよ。この動画のものは明らかに、刀＝片刃の刀剣類のこと。刀であっても伝統的な日本刀とは異なるのは明らかなのだし、刀という言葉の意味を理解していないでしょう？それらがわかっていないから、キチンと見て考えてね、と言っているのですよ？

日本で言えば太平洋戦争で使われた昭和刀と呼ばれるものがありますが、その中の一つの陸軍造兵廠が考案した造兵刀と呼ばれるものは一枚鍛えですしこんな感じではないかと。太平洋戦争の時代に軍刀用に作られた昭和刀は粗悪品の代名詞みたいな扱いですが、中には満鉄刀のような近代冶金技術と伝統技法を合わせて業物を作ってる事例もありますので馬鹿には出来ません。玉鋼しか使わない伝統型日本刀より近代の工場で作られた特殊鋼の鉄材を使って伝統工法で刀を仕上げる分だけ冶金の面で優れている可能性すらあります。

Japan has many volcanoes, and the titanomagnetite iron sand formed from weathered magma contains little phosphorus and sulfur, impurities that make steel brittle, and contains vanadium, which strengthens steel. Vanadium gives steel ductility and makes it easier to roll, making it easier to fold and forge. By folding and forging, the vanadium is finely dispersed and combines with carbon to create a fine metal structure, giving the katana excellent hardness, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, and toughness, and it becomes beautiful when sharpened. Katana steel is so high quality and durable that around 1970, Japanese steel companies analysed the katana and traditional furnaces to develop a modern steel called Yasugi Specialty Steel (yasuki hagane).
