Im almost done with Selaco and im almost 2/3rds of the way done with Dusk. I think i'll start this next since I won a copy of it last month. At first I was put off by the 'comic book' art style but it's growing on me the more gameplay I watch. I think the visuals were TOO unique and good looking, way different than most of its retro fps peers. Now that i'm adjusting to it, im starting to appreciate this more

I really like Forgive Me Father 1. It's one of my favorite Boomer shooters. That is the only reason I bought the second in early access instead of waiting.

Just in time for Halloween……. Too bad console gamers like myself are left out of this despite the first one coming out on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

@@Jarekthegamingdragon really now? Considering this game runs on Unreal Engine 5 it’ll work on PS5 and Xbox Series X but Nintendo Switch owners will be left in the lurch. And Lord only knows when the Super Nintendo Switch will come out and IF it can support Unreal 5. People who own a PS4 or an Xbox One are shit out of luck.

The game isn't very intensive so that's not clear at all. Even if it was, old consoles get phased out, that's just how it is. You'll have to upgrade eventually, or just play on PC.

Having fun, unique weapons is really a big selling point. I like retro shooters, but it gets boring having the same weapons in like 90% of them. And it's cool that here, you can basically choose whether you want to play with that standard retro shooter arsenal or go....weird with it. I will go weird. That said, the pistol in the first game is one of the best around. Never got old getting headshots with that thing. I also think the lack of any like proper 'sniper' class or whatever makes perfect sense when 95% of the game is in enclosed or shorter range areas. Plus it's lame if you can just sit back and kill everything from afar easily. Make people WORK. And really, much of the challenge of the first game came from not having super open areas for the most part. The limited space environment became one of the main factors in the difficulty. As soon as the game gives you more space, escaping projectiles and melee enemies becomes way easier.

Having range is important, not because you can sit back and snipe, the game doesn't really let you do that, but because of projectile enemies off in random locations that will always be at range.

When I stream it, I have always described the art as cell shaded. Im not sure why I relate it that way.

Because that's how many(most?) people tend to view this kind of 'thick border' artstyle. You could also say 'comic book' style if you wanted to be more accurate.
