The annual Fall Choreographic Shindig offers Whim W’Him company dancers the opportunity to select three choreographers from hundreds of applicants.
The Fall ’24 season features new work by Carlos Franquiz, founder and creator of the project-based dance company Arch Dansé Ensemble; Noelle Kayser, Chicago-based choreographer, actor, and sound designer; and Adam McGaw, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago dancer.
About Adam McGaw
With seven years of experience dancing with various companies-including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago-Adam McGraw explores the beauty in the mundane, drawing inspiration from literature, music, film, and personal history. Using improvisation to generate movement and build scenes, McGraw explores concepts of transformation and its nuanced relationship with time, memory, and stillness. “My work tends to be an overtly physical space,” writes McGraw, “where the artist can think, feel, choose, listen, react.”
Fall ‘24 runs for six performances at the Erickson Theatre on Capitol Hill: September 13 -14 and 19 - 21 at 8 pm, with a special matinee on September 15th at 2 pm featuring host Betty Wetter.
