As a kid of the 70's & 80's I grew up with these shows every CHRISTMAS!!! I'm 52 & I have them either on VHS, DVD or downloaded from the internet. My childhood memories. Pity they can't show them today or even in the last 30yrs without it being called racist or religious bias. No this is a fond memory of childhood long gone. But thanks to the power of the internet we can all reminisce over good times as kids.

Let me start by saying that, as far as I've always heard, it's spelled 'bass' like the fish, not 'base,' but I could be wrong. Now, regarding this 'Rankin/Bass style,' I wouldn't necessarily call these stop-motion animations that, because they didn't actually do the animation. (I guess you could still call it that, even though they were mostly behind the production of the writing and voice acting, as Rankin/Bass often outsourced the traditional animation aspects of their films to Japanese studios. One of those studios was Topcraft, which employed a young artist named Hayao Miyazaki.) What's almost lost/forgotten at this point is the fact that these shows were created by Japanese studios, even though the credits at the end of some of these stop-motion animations don't list them. Especially after watching this video by BennettTheSage ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoq4i4GIgsZsg9k ), it's eye-opening to see how many things I grew up watching were actually animated by Japanese studios. But they're never really given the credit. It's quite sad in my opinion

Rankin and Bass are NOT claymation. It's Stop motion animation. Gumby is claymation. RESEARCH!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎉

Yes.... We actually used to have God and Jesus stories on TV! Back before our corrupt gvnmt removed faith from everything. As you can see, its done wonders!
