Forgotten Dozer will it run? John deere 1010 crawler

Old dozer I picked out of a barn. been sitting there for at least 12 years. lets see if we can get it going

Yea I come across a lot of cheap old equipment. It’s getting harder to find though. When scrap prices went real high a few years ago unfortunately lots of stuff got scrapped. I try to save as many as I can! I’ll try and get more videos in the future! Yea I was super surprised how well it ran once the pump was cleaned up and back together. Thanks for watching!

Nice work there. I've got an old 1010 and I can't see anywhere to bar it over other than the starter/flywheel. There's a hydraulic pump on the front, transmission behind, and PTO shaft. Where were you barring yours over?

Hey Its been a little while but im pretty sure i was barring it over on the front of the motor. Think I was able To get a bar on the coupler for the hydro pump. Unfortunately I don’t have the dozer anymore or I’d take a look.

I just ran across this video & really liked the info you provided. Do you have one R & R injectors?

Hey glad you enjoyed! I do not have one on the injectors, however generally injectors are fairly Simple to remove. John Deere usually uses a hold down clamp/fork and then it’s just pure luck if it pops out easy or you have to fight with it. May not be a bad idea to soak the injectors at the base with some penetrating oil for a few days prior.

You got your two fuel prime handles right there at the injector pump put fresh fuel in it crack your line and pump the handle until it leaks out the fuel injectors tighten em up. Should fire up. Crank it over by hand first when it's in neutral. To make sure the engine isn't locked up

This one took a little more than that. The injection pump was gummed up. But I got er going!

I have a 1010 crawler with a winch and it runs. Has been under roof most of it's life. Gas engine only has 357 hours if someone is interested.

Nice machine in my area would bring 5k running a lot of old folks around here buy them new park them then sadly they can't be bought for love nor money until they pass away then there children hall them for scrap or sell them for nothing.

Yea unfortunately you are right. There’s lots of old iron local to me that the owners just won’t part with. I try to save as much as I can!

No sense getting worked up over a piece of iron! When I get frustrated I just walk away from whatever I’m working on. Come back with a level Head and it’s guaranteed to work out better than cussing and throwing tools!

78yr old mechanic. Mechanics modify many tool to access repairs on inframe equipment. Remember MSHA telling us st the mine, we were nolonger to use our home made tools. What fools. Still have my tools.

You got a bargain, my Dad had a 1010 back in the 60s, he was in the landscaping business, he started out with a 440, then the 1010 and went through several 350s, I now have the last 350 he ran, still runs great, great video, brings back a lot of memories, thanks.

I had a 440 IC for several years. Henry loader, it would pick/carry about a ton of dirt. After 20 years I have a chance to get it back, the guy I sold it to had a stroke and can't do very much very fast. It's tempting.

@@infoanorexic All the old Deeres are good machines if your patient! I dont run any of the older machines for frontline work but i love to just tinker with them around the property.

That blade will turn ya just gotta pull the pins on the side and manually turn it wheather that be by hand or Pushing up against something on one side lol

Thank you for the feedback! I never know what color to use. My Company colors are charcoal grey and blue so that’s the only reason I used blue. I’ll try and improve in future videos!

Strong little engine. Now time for an oil change, fuel, oil filters, radiator drain and serviced, rear end, transmission drained and serviced and a super duper grease job. That should bring the investment up to $600.00, my opinion. Good video and job.👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

You nailed it! That was the plan but I sold it to a friend and he did all that work. I was impressed it fired up after the pump work. I never understood why people just abandoned equipment like this!
