Conflict Desert Storm really shines when you play it as multiplayer. You and three friends working your way through those games is a fantastic experience. There's also Conflict Vietnam and Conflict Global Terror that each improve upon the last. Sadly, it isn't until Global Terror that they included a good system link option that lets everyone get their own screen. Side note they are also available on the GCN and Xbox.

Ah yes, Urban Reign! Few years ago I went on one of my two yearly visits to my longtime friend in Wales and we spent a whole day playing through and beating the entirety of Urban Reign. Taking turns doing each level or when we failed a mission. It’s one of my favourite gaming experiences to date, even though mission 98 was complete BS! 🤣 Anyway, great video! 👍

You two can play together too and beat that 98th stage together. There is a code that you can apply to control the other character via 2nd controller. If you know this already then my bad.

YESSS. I'm so happy you included Conflict: Desert Storm II on this list! That was me and my lifelong best friend's favorite game in our childhood, and I can't tell you the countless amount of hours we put into replaying it and the first Conflict: Desert Storm. That game really blew our minds as kids, and I've yet to really experience anything that's given me the same feeling. You're the only other person I've come across now that knows of the game, so I'm glad you appreciate it likely as much as we do!

I loved Rumble Roses. I have the game on the ps2 and 360. I was way into wrestling games back then. I do miss fun arcade racing games. God Hand was another great game I still have.

Evergrace, man. One of the first PS2 games I ever played along DW2. I'd love it if FromSoftware were to make a small-scale remake of it.

12:59 God Hand 🤘🏻 Great game and challenging too. Love the crazy story and interesting weird bosses. The US version of this is very expensive. Instead I got the MUCH cheaper Japanese version. The JP version has full English voice and a mix of English and Japanese text for the item shop. I managed to finish the game fully without any issues regarding language. Mind you I cant speak any Japanese.

Man, I love Rumble Roses. I used to play it with friends and we laughed at the sheer absurdity and cheesyness of the story mode, the challenges, the characters, etc.

Capcom vs SNK 2 is such a good game on the GCN. The GCN version, Capcom vs SNK 2: EO, allowed the player to use the C-stick as a shortcut to do special moves and even finishers. It made the game welcoming to new players who weren't great at fighting games to be able to play with their friends without having to be great at the game and inputs.

God Hand is truly the best beat 'em up game and one of the best PS2 has to offer. It's challenging, fun, cool and has humour. The bosses are great as well. It's one of a kind.

Conflict desert storm was so memorable, i got a friend every time he play a game with customizable class and outfit, he became a sniper and always looking for a boonie hat, to resemble foley.

I have three of these. Evergrace was one of the first PS2 games I owned. I still remember the shopkeeper's response when I wanted to upgrade the (cooking)pot helmet: "You want to upgrade that? You're weird." Rumble Roses is one of the only sports games I enjoyed, and you're right that the move variety is a draw in addition to the now dated eye candy aspect. Devil Kings made me wish that the rest of the games in that franchise might be brought over, as it was similar to Dynasty Warriors spinoff Samurai Warriors but different enough to be fun in its own way. The Devil Kings version of Nohime, "Lady Butterfly" was particularly memorable for a super move in which she pulled a giant chaingun from nowhere and mowed down all who stood before her.

You've got great content. I'm curious what setup you have for your PS2. The video quality is fantastic. I have an HDMI adapter from Pound Technology. Many don't care for it, but I think it looks quite nice. Your gameplay looks much better though. Keep up the great work.

I thought the juggle system and wall splats in Urban Reign looked a LOT like Tekken, even the animation of punches and kicks. Punches looked like Steve Fox. Then it said NAMCO. No wonder. 😅

Man, I remember when State of Emergency came out. 13 year old me thought that it was the coolest looking game and looked like so much fun. Specifically the thing about the game that seemed so cool was that you could destroy so much of the environment and shoot so many of the enemies in it. This was back in the day when both were not very common in games. Just being able to go on a rampage and see the destruction represented in the game was quite a novelty at the time. Never did play it though.

I remember the first Summoner game released as a launch game. I got very far but somehow got stuck and couldn't finish it. Something to do with having low health with no way to increase it at that point in the game. I intend to go back to it.

God Hand is the only game listed that I've played the full version of (and completed). I'm pretty sure I played demos of most of the rest. Oh, how I loved all the demos companies used to release. I wish companies still did that with most games, as it would help us and them.

Urban Reign is also Tekken Force (the beat em up mode in tekken 3,4, and differently named in 6) on a slightly more simplified but still deep level. Simplified control wise, but deep with how there are different mechanics as mentioned and ways to make pretty awesome combos. It's also tekken force, or just basically tekken not just because of the inclusion of Marshall Law and Paul Phoenix, but because parts of move sets of existing characters like Jin Kazama, King, Hwoarang, Bruce Irvin, and more are applied to the many unlockable characters in the game. So, you are indeed getting Tekken the beat em up (with a hidden 2 player co-op cheat as well)

Another great video. God Hand is not for eveyone, but still a must try. Once again I recommend Code of the Samurai. And Shinobido: Way of the Ninja (great for Tenchu fans, made by the same devs actually). I'm not sure if they were released in the US, but I'm certain they got an European release.

Urban Chaos: Riot Response Weird concept, perfectly executed on PS2. If you do PS1; Parasite Eve 2, Breath Of Fire 3, Vagrant Story, Assault Rigs and Front Mission 2. Not big sellers but kinda cult classics.

I miss both Conflict and Socom. Both were solid 3rd person tactical military games. It was pretty neat that Conflict had a Vietnam War game too. That's rarely done today, except for multiplayer only games. And I remember State of Emergency too. Fun game, never really touched the sequel. Ever play that 1? Real shame God Hand didn't get an HD remaster like Onimusha 1 and Okami.

I remember Rumble Roses; had a demo back then, and found it to be stupidly fun and a whole lot deeper than people made it out to be; later played the full version and had loads of fun; it's been years since, I wonder if it emulates well as I would love to give it another shot one of these days. Shox hada very impressive reflective system going on, that shit was smooth and well defined; I loved that, don't remember having much fun with it though, but then again, I was quite busy at the time and couldn't manage to dedicate the time to it.

Its funny look back at Rockstars releases almost all could be seen as testing grounds to perfect a gameplay element before incorporating it into gta. Example they perfect street racing in Midnight club then do GTA3. They do State of Emergency and play with allies and crowds introduce elements of that into vice city and san andreas
