I love that you did this tour! I live just a couple minutes away, and worked at MGM Studios, in the 1950’s through 1960’s, as a child actress. I’ve lived nearby in my 102 year old English cottage-style house for 48 years.

That's very cool! Is there any famous actors that you would see in that area during those years? Interesting to know what it was like back then

Thanks for the field trip, Man, that took 22 years to build. I wonder if that means all three buildings went up at different times over that span?

You're very observant! Probably it was all done in stages considering he probably needed permits and wasn’t a millionaire it was a slow process to get it all done

I remember Walt had a room made in Disneyland for him and his family to stay in as well. I forgot what building he was in, some where on Mainstreet in Disneyland. Of course this was before they had built Disneyworld which was still in the planning stage before his death. It's to bad that Bob Iger, the owner of Disney today, is so money hungery and distroying classic Disney.

That quirky architectural style became pretty popular all over the country. There's a building with that kind of character in the Ingleside neighborhood on Ocean Ave that's now a coffee place called Java on Ocean!

Hi, Thanks for the tour. Many years ago, I used to work at Brotman Medical Center on Delmas Terrace which was two streets over. Going to and from work, I would see the Hobbit house all the time. I still live in the Los Angeles area, but haven't been that way in many years. I'm glad the hobbit house is still there and that it's a protected historical set of buildings. - Thomas

Very quirky. It makes me wonder who owns these homes and why. It can't be easy, since they have to keep it a certain way (yu think your HOA or city building inspector is tough to deal with) and hard to sell if and when that time comes.

On the show California`s Gold they showed an area that had a theme park, no rides, that predated Disneyland. It had a two story witch house and little elf style houses. I don`t know the name of the place but after it closed down the houses were turned into resident living.
