Something like this happened in Southsea, Portsmouth, England. During the English Civil War, the Commander of Southsea Castle was in the pub when the Parliamentarian forces attacked. He was wheeled back to the castle, and the Royalists beat back the Parliamentarians. The pub is now called "The Wheelbarrow".

I can't believe how short all the cast are. There's no way they didn't write some episodes based on the casts own experiences...

This was a great episode. I think I first saw this Christmas show on YT when I went looking for classic Christmas TV episodes.

That was really good Rick thank you for the tour, I have often wondered about The Brown Derby as it is mentioned often in old movies.

Hi Rick‼️ I did not know that Lucy switched cigarettes 🚬; very clever -- that's our Lucy ‼️ I don't smoke either, never did, but I don't think those scenes should be cut ✂️. That's part of our history. Luckily, like you, I have the series on DVD 📀❤️‼️

Had a rich neighbor who was Jewish. He had a furniture making factory. Was very rich. *sadly I forget what city* the Nazi came to take over, drag him off. He confused them. “Of course I will sign over the Factory, do whatever you wish”. They actually let him leave. He went directly to train station. Not to bank, home, but sent others to warn others. He left with cloths on his back. Made it to America just after war. Worked hard, got a business in Chicago. *I have seen clips on internet of him, about him*. He married, had kids rebuilt his fortune. He decided to move to my area, sell his business. His wife left him, sued for $$$. His sons stayed with her. But he said it was easier 2nd time. That you will have warnings. Plan, be ready to walk away without looking back. Very few he warned that went home, to bank, tried to sell survived. Early 2000 he was contacted about reparations for his factory. He died soon after. I suspect he wanted nothing to do with it.

I thought this was going to be about the kiss that Max gave to 99 when she was immobilized by a drug that was injected from Max's ring. Some might consider this a non consensual action.

I have seen every episode, my mom before she passed away had gotten me the whole series of the show for a present. This show has been my favorite of all programs, I even wanted to turn the old tree in my front yard into a tunnel entrance like they had. We've lost the whole cast now, they were some of the best actors ever!!!!

Leon Akskin an Robert Cleary weren't the only ones with personal connections to the Holocaust. John Banner (Sgt Schultz) was also Jewish and imprisoned in a concentration camp. He was actually released before "The Final Solution" was enacted. He then managed to escape Europe and make his way to America. Werner Klemper (Col. Klink) was Jewish. He escaped Europe before being imprisoned. Lastly Howard Caine (Maj. Hochstetter) was a Jewish American who served in the US Coast Guard during WW2. So the show had a large Jewish cast who played comical Germans or Nazis. How about that?

This was one of my favorite shows as a kid and I was only bone in 1963 so I was watching the reruns in the 1970’s

I saw the show when it was first ran. I was 6 in 1966, i never gave the kiss any thought. The show was the best. People are too sensitive. The characters had to be understood.

I remember this as a kid. I laughed so hard. The fact he was a robot made it hilarious. I think I remember the 3 Stooges (or maybe it was the Marx Brothers ) kissing each other. That would have been the 30’s / 40’s.
@ricknineg20 сағат бұрын
They would do any type of thing with each other. Kisses bites and the rest. Curly and Moe would a lot but they were brothers. So this is a bit more awkward being that they weren’t family

Even a a kid, I saw these shows as reruns. I don't remember seeing this episode in rerun, they seemed to have specific episodes they would run, for the most part in order. They would skip controversial episodes and hold off airing the holiday episodes nearer to the holidays. Even when they held marathons of the shows, either they would skip it or since was watching so many in a row, it was a blurr.

Harold Caine (Major Hawksteder) was a championship level Blue Grass Banjo player. Tried messing about with AI to do a meeting with Hawksteder and a distant cousin from the states who's a pow. Imagine Hogan on seeing an duplicate of Hawksteder in an American uniform. Sadly even I think the output from the AI is garbage.

Robert Clary was also in a Nazi detention camp of some kind. His sister was a member of the French resistance. Much of what is portrayed in the characters had direct reference to the real life experiences and first hand knowledge of the actors.

I think a lot of people weren’t born yet, but they tend to forget or didn’t realize that the first two seasons for the Batman TV show two episodes were airing per week. Add to the fact that there was also a movie in theaters starring Adam West Bert Ward that hit theaters before season three I think people got a little tired of the Batman craze. It’s called oversaturation With that said the reason the character of batgirl was added to the cast because the show was trying to dispel rumors that Batman and Robin were gay because they weren’t really dating any females and three men living together Alfred Bruce Wayne and Dick. Grayson didn’t look good and this is back in the 60s. Also for people not knowing why these rumors about Batman being bisexual has been going on since the 50s because a German psychiatrist wrote a book titled the seduction of the innocence saying that the character of Batman he thought was a book that was trying to get children to become Homosexual and juvenile delinquents, go read up on it
