Wow, I for one am excited to see Rom, one of my all-time favorite superheroes. He's pretty obscure despite coming from an excellent comic that lasted a decent amount of time. I also really like this character. A sinister, living house is a great monster. And I'm fine with it being able to change its appearance as long as it stays a dwelling. Being able to shift from a house to an apartment building is pretty cool, in my opinion. You never know if what you're entering could be the House.

Actually, it is. The House of Secrets and the House of Mystery are on opposite sides of a graveyard. The houses are inhabited by two brothers, Cain and Abel. Obscure and Forgotten indeed! I didn't even know this shadowy fiend existed! A lot of this concept actually reminds me of the title character in Stephen King's IT. But while IT takes on the shape of beings like evil clowns and classic monsters, this Dweller in the Shadows disguises itself as a house or an apartment floor. Based on everything you've said, I have a theory that this creature is essentially a predatory creature; with IT, the idea was that it was a predator that fed on both fear and flesh. IT considered itself superior to humans, and saw them as toys at least and a primary source of nutrition at best. The House SEEMS similar, just based on what I've seen here and what you've said. So, perhaps that's its motivations, and that's why it can apparently change shapes, and chooses buildings. Pennywise worked for IT because at worst kids would be afraid of it, and at best, they would be lured in. Taking on the guise of a creepy old building can have much the same effect. HOWEVER, all this is supposition, and I probably SHOULDN'T make these kind of suggestions until I've actually read the stories...which I shall try to do this very week! Because a villain like this? Come on, how can I resist? XD

I especially want you do do Jane Doe Debuting in the pages of Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, Jane Doe is a ruthless serial killer with the ability to transform into her victims. Able to shapeshift, mimic voices and quickly embody the personality, skills and quirks of others, Doe is incredibly hard to trace, making her a formidable foe. Claiming to feel “incomplete” and “empty”, Doe’s obsession with impersonation stems from her desire to live other people’s lives - a claim bolstered by her complete anonymity and apparent lack of identity. Scarred and disfigured with blood red skin to match, Jane Doe’s natural appearance is strangely reminiscent of Red Skull, but the character still manages to be even more frightening in someone else’s skin than her own. Managing to shoot Commissioner Gordon three times after infiltrating his office amongst other grisly crimes, Jane Doe’s talents are both impressive and incredibly alarming.

I second Jane Doe, "Living Hell" is not a particularly loved Batman story but I really enjoy it, partially thanks to Jane. The first time I encountered her was in Manhunter's debut arc, which runs at the same time as "House of Hush" (loved the subplot between Jane and Hush ^^ and it's always nice to see the Mr Zzz & Little Italy duo; another forgotten one =) So, no way I'm forgetting this character ^^' tdespite having a default user name) She would have been perfect for Halloween. Or to go with the classic monster, the *Invisible Man* from "Batman: Unseen" by Doug Moench & Kelley Jones A play on H.G. Well’s story, with, as a bonus => good ol' *Black Mask* is the third man in this free for all, nice to have him in a story written by his creator. From his "top 5 favorite Black Mask stories", I don't believe he's read this one or he would have mentioned it, Roman Sionis stories aren't that common sadly. Sionis is definitely my favorite part of this story; we get to know a lot more about obsession with masks, more details about his origin story, etc... Thank God Roman is there because watching the other 2 idiots bumble around can be infuriating, is you take the story too seriously. They are both so stupid and incompetent, it's kinda amazing... Sorry about the rant, that wasn't premeditated >

Have to appreciate the fact that the Rom story drew the House exactly the same as the original. I see it did get some minor landscaping done, though. :) 2:52 OTOH, that is one big-ass chair Rom found to sit in, and damn sturdy to boot. He's over 7' tall, and mostly made of metal. Any chair that doesn't turn to kindling under him has to be supernatural.

In Rom the Spaceknight the Dire Wraiths brought the House of Shadows back with sorcery because they were trying to free they’re fellow Wraiths’ from the Shadow Realm of Limbo where they were banished by all the Spacekights. But when they opened the dimensional portal it brought back the House which destroyed them.

If you're still looking for some Halloween badies, try Marvel's Scarecrow, Ebenezer Laughton (not to be confused with our old pal Johnny from the DCU). There's also another Marvel Scarecrow, later renamed Straw Man. He's really cool too, but he's more an (anti)hero than a villain. Also, check out Calvin Zabo AKA Mr. Hyde. Great video! Never heard of this one. Absolutely love the concept: not just a haunted house, but a living entity from another dimension. Certainly a unique take on the haunted house genre.

He's the only kind of major Batman villain you haven't really talked about (well I consider him major mainly due to me growing up with TAS, I know he's more on the level of Zsasz and Pyg) and I'm just interested in your thoughts on him. He'd probably fit really well into this month considering Dummy's and horror movies. Anyhoo can't wait for the next villain whomever it may be!

I'd really like to see a couple of Were-Wolf by Night foes covered. -First off the Brain Eaters, a hedonistic Were-Wolf Biker gang that love to kill and eat people. As far as I know the only appeared twice, both times in Marvel Comics presents. -Second is Silver Dagger a fanatical Monster/Were-Wolf hunter who uses Silver blades to kill his prey.

A good way to bring this guy... er, thing back might be as an accessory to one of Marvel's higher-profile demonic characters, like Mephisto or Daimon Hellstrom. The latter might be really cool, actually, since Hellstrom has always been one of those villain/antihero types who teeters back and forth between right and wrong, and in recent years has had a fair amount of power and influence in the demon realms. What if he got a solo series in which he moves back to Earth for awhile - and what does he choose for his dwelling place? The House of Shadows, of course! Why not? If the Dweller can attack and torment those who go inside it, surely it can also do the opposite if so inclined - and the presence of a powerful demon lord should provide just such an inclination. Cowed and humbled by Daimon's power, the Dweller meekly goes along with being a sort of demonic 'smart house' for him, obeying the Son of Satan's every whim, up to and including keeping his bed extra-sort and the fridge stocked with hellish provender. It'll open the doors when he asks. It'll boot out his enemies. It'll dim the lights. It'll do EVERYTHING. It does, however, ask just one thing in return. It hates humanity. Hellstrom IS going to do something terrible to humanity while he's on Earth, right? Sure, sure, says Hellstrom - but as time passes, the Dweller starts getting impatient. It starts becoming reluctant to follow orders. 'Turn on the fan!' shouts Hellstrom. 'Where's the apocalypse?' grumbles the Dweller. Eventually, it realizes that no, the Satan-Son is not going to follow through on his promises. At that point, it's had enough. The scene is set for a battle between Daimon and his own demonic house - and since the Dweller has been secretly leeching power from him on the sly, he might be in for quite a tussle...

I don''t really have anything to say about this one (other than saying that "something right out of the SCP Foundation" is a perfect summary), so I'm going to take the time to present some guesses as to what we're going to get this October; 1) Something Parasite-Related - This one's obvious. I was originally going to go with a "Top Five Parasite Stories", but none of them really have that many good stories in the comics themselves sadly, so I'm leaving it a bit more vague. 2) Professor Pyg - I've scrolled through the comment sections on this channel enough times now to know that people really want you to cover Pyg, and considering how the guy was literally designed to be a f*cked up monster, I think now's the best time to get him out of the way. 3) Cicada (Flash)/Deacon Blackfire - I put these two together because they're stripped from the same cloth - obsessive, dangerous cult leaders. I personally find cults and certain religious groups to be terrifying due much influence they have over everyone involved, even those that manage to escape, so to me these are obvious choices for a Horror-Themed month. 4) Underrated Rogues: Doctor Psycho - This man is straight-up vile; a creepy, sadistic manifestation of everything Diana opposes in her mission for peace, love and unity...and yet the only exposure he's confirmed to be getting in the near-future is in a Harley Quinn show? Halloween's the best time to give the weirdo some love. He's kinda like some of the more off-putting takes on Mad Hatter, only further exaggerated and far more fitting considering that's what he was created to be like, unlike Jervis, where it's just gross, tasteless characterisation. 5) The Brotherhood (Doom Patrol) - Honestly the entire Rogues Gallery applies here, but The Brotherhood offer the most to talk about so I'd stick with them. It doesn't really need much explaining - they're a great blend of comic book weirdness and genuine horror (the Brain alone is absolutely horrifying as just a concept) that needs more exposure.

Can you check out the Marvel villain Kro? He's one of the Deviants, mutated cousins of humanity and enemy of the Eternals (spiritual successors to DC's New Gods). Kro and the Eternal warrior Thena actually fell in love, so much so that she was actually willing to betray and fight against her fellow Eternals at one point to protect him. He quickly fell into obscurity due to being in the rogues gallery of an already obscure team. It's kind of sad considering Kro was created by Jack Kirby, and later developed by Walt Simonson. The two comics legends really tried to make him a great, complex character.
