Its still sacred today. A few years ago there was a Summer solstice ceremony there led by the Druids and local people. It was a truly lovely event. Nice video, thank you.

As a child, I lived in Market Lavington, next to a sloping wood with a stream running along the bottom of it. There was a 'bubbling kettle' there, and we used to stick our hands and arms down into it. 1970s good times before smartphones!

My word James. You bring history alive in the absolute best possible way. Had no idea about these at all. I wonder if they are more in other places? I'd love to know even a fraction of the history you know. Thank you so much once again. I was waiting for you to do a Dawn French when you jumped in. Had visions of you going in over your head. Brave move

As always James, that was most interesting. Hidden history brought to life, I could clearly see how they had built the watercourse. Glad you didn't fall over when you jumped into the pool:)

Is there much in the way of stone age activity in that vicinity, I know you mention dates much later on but just wondering what draws your conclusion to the age? I don't know the area I'm afraid so I might be asking the obvious. I know when I lived in Somerset we had some great trackway over the levels, and some sites had evidence of votive offerings, so those springs and the jud might hold a few secrets. Thanks for sharing James, great as ever.
